David Ginola was a legendary football player who described on Monday’s I’m A Celebrity, how he died 12 minutes after having suffered a cardiac arrest in 2017.

Naughty Boy was asking about the four-year-old ordeal that occurred in a charity match. 

The DJ asked: “Is this true regarding something that has happened to you?” The DJ asked: “You died, and then you came back?”

David Ginola, I’m a Celebrity 2021, described how he passed away in 12 minutes after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch in 2017.

‘I passed away for 12 minutes,’ David said, to which Naughty Boy replied, ‘I didn’t think that was possible.’ 

Former Spurs and Newcastle soccer player said in detail: “Just playing football at one stage, you just drop to the floor. So they have to perform CPR for 12 minutes and they arrive with the defibrillator and they shocked me one time, two times, three times… 

They said that they believed their friend was dead. A fourth, fifth time… the fifth time, a heartbeat. The surgeon said, “You’ve been very lucky David, it’s a miracle. Nine out of ten would have died in your situation.

Speaking in the Telegraph, Richard Madeley drew on the close bonds the campmates had quickly formed.

David choked on his tongue in that terrifying moment four year ago and stopped breathing. Paramedics brought a defibrillator to the scene.

To save him, surgeons had to do a quadruple bypass. 

David rounded up the conversation by saying: ‘It’s one of a kind, because you don’t have any warnings. You could just walk like this and boom, fall over and it’s over. You’ll find it crazy when you really think about. Come on, let’s cook some rice. Let’s get started!
