David Ginola’s girlfriend Maëva Denat has revealed she fears the footballer will die from a heart attack as he reportedly prepares to take part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

Admitting she is in ‘a constant battle’ with the former Spurs star regarding his health, Maëva told The Sun: ‘I am always worried about David’s health and what if something happens like before?

“Smoking” is one of most harmful things to the heart. There have been many times when I have taken my friend’s cigarettes and had them thrown out.

The Sun was previously informed by a source that signing up David was a great coup for the show and he is far the largest name to enter the castle.

“He is also an unanticipated addition as most of the speculation revolves around British celebrity appearances on the show.

“But producers tend to choose a veteran sports player for their line-up every year, particularly one with a high level of public recognition like David.

David is an ex-professional French footballer and has previously worked as an actor.

Former forward, he was active in football in France for ten years before moving to Newcastle United (English Premier League) in July 1995.

David and Maëva confirmed their romance in June 2016, just weeks after he suffered the heart attack and three months after announcing his separation from wife of 25 years, Coraline.
