Payet, who was fighting with rivals Nice in the second half of their clash, was hit by a projectile on August 2.
He was furious and needed to be restrained by his team, but he still managed to to toss the bottle into the stands.
Nice supporters were furious at the gesture and broke through the security fence to meet the ex-Hammers fan.

After playing just four minutes, Marseille and Lyon players were removed from the pitch.
Frustrated supporters took to the pitch to protest the officials. The referee had to stop the match and Marseille staff and players stepped in as defenders for Payet. A fight ensued between players, staff, and fans, with Payet being the victim.
Pablo Fernandez, physio from Marseille was banned for one year after he punched one of the Nice fans.
Lens were then ordered to play at home two more games behind closed doors, following crowd trouble in their match against Lille.
In September, meanwhile, Marseille and Angers fans brawled onto the pitch following a goalless draw, with rival supporters trading blows after breaching a security cordon.
