Isabella Worthington (23) scraped her A 200 D AMG five-door against the pavement at Parsonage Retail Park (Leigh).
An auto finance employee who drunkenly pranged her Mercedes and claimed that the kerb was too high has been banned from driving.
Police patrolmen saw Isabella Worthington, 23, scrape her five-door A 200 D AMG against the roadside at Parsonage Retail Park in Leigh, Greater Manchester, at 9pm on April 18.
The driver, from Warrington, Cheshire, claimed she had only clipped the kerb because it was ‘unnaturally high’ due to the road being ‘under-developed’.
She was interviewed by police at the roadside and they filed a report stating that she was friendly, cooperative, and polite. So she was taken to the station in a squad vehicle, not a van.
Worthington later pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving with excess alcohol and asked to run a trial which would have cost taxpayers £770.
This week at Wigan magistrates court Worthington, who is thought to work as a £29,000 year underwriter for a car finance company, changed her plea to guilty on the day of the trial after watching police footage of the incident.
She was disqualified from driving for 14 months, fined £747 and told to pay £225 in costs and surcharges.
Isabella Worthington was 23 years old when police patrolmen stopped her five-door A200D AMG and threw it against the curb.

She had 46 micrograms in 100ml of her breath, according to tests. 35mg is the legal limit.
Neil White, the Prosecutor said that this incident was very simple. On mobile patrol, police saw the motor vehicle and heard something scraping further down.
They saw defendant in the passenger seat of the car and inquired if she’d had a drink. The officers asked her if she’d had a drink.
The bodycam footage of the defendant showed she was cooperative, friendly, and chatty. She claimed she drove her car to scrape because it was new and undeveloped.
“She said she had driven her car. They allowed her to take her to the police station with a standard squad car due to her compliance. Because of the car’s high kerb she said that she had stolen it.
Worthington changed her plea to guilty on the day of the trial after watching police footage of the incident
She initially pleaded guilty to not being guilty. However, after watching the video today she has changed her plea and now admits guilt. She is strongly and persuasively convicted. The unnaturally high kerb caused damage to Mercedes’ front wing.
Worthington was not convicted of any previous offenses. Appearing unrepresented she told JPs: ‘I have nothing to say except that I am working and earn £2,400 per month.’
John Mason, Chairman of the Bench, sent her to prison. He said that while drink driving was a grave offense, but there were no injuries or accidents in her case.
“You’ll be disqualified and fined for driving and you will also lose your license. You can’t drive any type of vehicle on any roads during this time. We will offer the alcohol drivers awareness course.
