After suffering three dislocated discs in his back and a fractured pelvis, he is now on track to complete recovery.

Eammon Holmes revealed that the pain from his back injury caused him to be in constant pain.

The 62-year-old presenter uses a walking stick for his movement. He also says that his children are embarrassed by how he moves.

Oh no: Eammon Holmes has revealed the crippling pain he’s dealt with since his back injury has put ‘some strain’ on his relationship with wife Ruth Langsford, 61, as he told how she is ‘fed up’ with his constant ‘moaning’

Despite the fact that there is much to celebrate in 2022 thanks to his appointment to GB News. Eamonn speaks to The Sun about how the difficulties he has with his ‘trapped nerve’ are affecting his family members who help him to complete everyday tasks.

He said, “It has been a hard year.” For months now I haven’t been able to walk, sometimes at all, and it has really taken its toll on everyone around me too…

‘I can’t bend down to pick things up so Ruth ends up having to wait on me, and I know my sons particularly are a bit embarrassed by the way I move around.’

Former This Morning host said he felt ’emasculated” at the prospect of having to give up his car that he couldn’t drive. He relies on hooks to lift his pants and on other means to slip his shoes on and off.

Struggles: The presenter, 62, who is using a walking stick to help him move, also admits that his sons are ’embarrassed’ by the way he moves as he details the agony and daily challenges he’s had to endure

Eamonn said that James was his trainer and that they used ‘weird, wonderful procedures to make him more flexible in the mornings. However, he admitted it was slow progress and that sometimes he had to hide how he felt so that no one would be frustrated.

Ruth was unhappy with the impact it had on her. He stated that even my family is tired of me moaning. It has caused some strain and Ruth is fed up of hearing about it and of me saying I can’t walk the dog or tidy up, but I can’t help it. It’s agony.

‘I take Tramadol sometimes to help it but you can’t take them all the time and they will only give you so much. It gets me through a Saturday if we have plans, and suddenly everyone has a nice time again — but then the pain comes back.’

Eamonn, who will return to television next week to host his new GB News Breakfast Show, means he’ll get back to early morning starts.

The Northern Irish host explained how he might have caused a conflict with his wife (who he had married in 2010) after suggesting that she be moved into his guest room so that she is not awakened at 2.45am.

But, Ruth Eamonn, Loose Women host, didn’t like the idea. She said Ruth had “glared at him angrily” and insisted that she wouldn’t be moving.

Eamonn and his 20 year TV partnership are ending. They will no longer host This Morning on Fridays. Eamonn said that a short break was a good thing as they both love working together, but being married also means they have ‘no downtime’.

He said that they will work together in the future as long as their relationship is admired by viewers.

The TV personality has openly documented his health battles on social media and has told that recovery is like ‘learning to walk again’, as he continued to depend on crutches and walking aids in order to walk.

Eamonn, who was describing his pain in Loose Women episode April 2, said, “Thanks for asking me, because obviously nobody else bothers to ask, or wonders. I don’t enjoy complaining, but it is three slipped disks.

“Actually, I must come here with a crutch. That’s how I feel at the moment.

“Honestly, the problem with this is that we can all sit around me and I have steroid injections, and everything’s ok. I hope I’ll stay ok. But for me, it’s incredible to see how many people are experiencing chronic pain. It doesn’t really matter if your a woman or a young man.

He said, “I could not sleep at night. Ruth was sound asleep right next to me. It was terrible, it truly was awful.”

“I have six weeks to go before I get the injections that relieve the severe pain. Although it’s a blessing in disguise, the fact that I can’t stand straight anymore is a handicap. However, this will be my rehabilitation.

Weeks later, he gave a glimpse of his recovery on Twitter, where he shockingly revealed he’s lost nerves in his right leg due to the injury.

Eamonn explained that she was still crutch dependent, and her goal is to eliminate this dependency. James Davis is the one who is going to do this.

According to the Northern Irish star, “This looks simple. It is simple. But it’s not like walking again.”

“I have nerve problems in my right leg, and I’m unable to do certain things. It’s becoming easier but harder.

Eamonn had his double hip replacement in 2016. He was seen working out in the back yard, doing a variety of exercises to strengthen and stabilize his pelvis.

Eamonn had previously shared his experience with circulation boosters in helping him to ‘get back outside’ and do daily activities.
