Films about pop stars are a box office hit, from Bohemian Rhapsody about Queen and Freddie Mercury to Elton John’s Rocketman.
But I heard from sources that the production of an eighties movie about Boy George (Karma Chameleon) is in serious trouble.
The Culture Club singer, along with his friend, Philip Sallon (who was supposed to star in the movie), have been involved in a major bust up. Sallon says he won’t help with production.

Sallon (70), who was a prominent promoter of nightclubs and an impresario during the New Romantic and early punk movements, said that he is not involved in any way.
“It is very difficult for me to not be in the film, because we were together the entire time,” he says. He’ll be without me, however.
They were once close friends, and Sallon played an important role in Taboo (a West End production about George’s life and career that premiered in 2002).
Sallon states, “With that musical. I spent ages trying in every way to help.” “But this is the one I’m not going to do.
Sallon, 70, who was expected to feature heavily in the film about Boy George, says he’s now not involved ‘in the slightest way’
Sallon was the one who held the event. He refuses reveal what caused the row but warns that there will be severe consequences for George if the truth is revealed. He said to me, “I hate the thought of destroying someone’s lives.” He knows what he did and it’s how it works. He’s a pro. George decides what he does. He can do wrong if he thinks so, but I don’t have to get the karma.
Boy George (far left) confirms the row and takes the opportunity to throw a dig at his old pal, telling me: ‘It’s great that Philip wants to discuss our fall-out — he needs the publicity.’
Ouch.
TV’s Princess Diana is inspired by self-help books
Elizabeth Debicki will take over from Emma Corrin the role of Diana in The Crown’s upcoming series. She seems to have taken inspiration from Princess Diana’s love of spirituality and healing.
When she was in London, she stopped by a bookshop where she purchased Katherine May’s memoir Wintering. This self-help guide teaches you how to get out of trouble and recover.

Dan Walker isn’t the only breakfast broadcaster who would like to quit BBC. Director-general Tim Davie shared the results from a survey with staff and it didn’t go well for them. Half of the employees no longer believe in managers. 41% do. More than half of those polled doubt that the Beeb will be able to survive 2025. Only 47% are confident. Davie says that he is seeing significant progress in addressing our priority areas.
Elba’s Family Enjoys a Sonic Night out
Idris Elba, Luther’s star, is used to playing the lead man. But he enjoyed sharing the spotlight with his female co-stars at the premier of his new film.
The Londoner, 49, was joined by Sabrina (33-year-old Miss Vancouver) and Isan (20-years-old) on the Los Angeles red carpet for Sonic The Hedgehog 2.

Carrie’s buddy warns No.10 about the dangers of conversion therapy
Boris Johnson’s spouse Carrie said to guests last October at a Tory party conference about LGBT rights: “We now have an Prime Minister who’s completely committed’ to gay rights and that the Government he heads is banning conversion therapy.”
Now Boris is causing consternation in Carrie’s circle, by delaying the discussion to ban transsexual conversion therapy. He was responsible for the boycotting of large numbers at the first international LGBT+ conference and its subsequent cancellation.

James Baker was Carrie’s closest friend. He warned her that she would wage war against those who are LGBT-ers, if she were No 10. LGBT Tories make up most of the deliverers, campaigners and councillors in some of the most key seats — and lots that have elections in May.’
Tess Daly suggested that the Strictly judges need to be given a boost of glamour, as Bruno Tonioli’s antics are not being reported. At a Boots and No7 launch party at The Londoner Hotel, Leicester Square, Tess Daly tells me that she would love to have David Walliams and Alan Carr on the show. “Imagine these two dancing on the dancefloor. Craig Revel Horwood, who is watching Strictly as Britain’s Got Talent, has called for Simon Cowell’s participation. It would be fabulous.
- Jess Phillips, an outspoken Labour MP and sometimes Have I Got News For You host is famous for her distinct Brummie accent. Now she has revealed her dad, who was a councilman and became a teacher for her, asked her to give up her Brummie accent. She admits that she was taught it to be dangerous. “My dad used really to push me on my pronunciation of vowels. He would say to me, “I don’t mind that, love. But, people are snobby, and you have to be able to speak like this if you want to succeed.” ‘
