The Whisky Expert is commonly known as Sir Colin Hampden-White. Amazon Prime’s trailers for The Three Drinkers shows him arriving in a Scottish castle on a Rolls-Royce chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce.

But, I’m able to tell you that the aristocrat is not what he seems.

In fact, he is a photographer and has no rights to the title “Sir”, as he is neither a knight nor baronet.

The phony knight admits to me that his “title” does not show up in Debrett’s Peerage. It contains a list of all titled families.

Widely described as Sir Colin Hampden-White, the whisky expert sees his upper-crust credentials emphasised by streaming giant Amazon Prime, which on trailers for his show, The Three Drinkers, films him arriving at a Scottish castle in a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce

The Whisky Expert is commonly known as Sir Colin Hampden-White. Amazon Prime’s trailers for The Three Drinkers film him driving to a castle in Scotland with his chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce.

He says to me that he didn’t kneel on the ground in order to be knighted and crowned by Queen Elizabeth.

‘As far that I am aware, Edward III gave the family an honor.

“He distributed some but they weren’t kept, so Debrett doesn’t have them.”

The spokesperson for A Debrett confirms that “Colin Hampden White doesn’t possess a hereditary title which would give him the foretitle Sir”.

Many greats in the whisky business have genuine titles such as Duke of Argyll. The bumptious tippler (49) has enjoyed having his name published as ‘Sir Colin.

Whisky Corner described him as “a genuine live bone fide Sire” and he was referred to on Cask Trade’s website as “Sir”, which is the non-executive director for the company he works at.

‘People have used it for me — they’ve used it in interviews and things,’ he tells me.

However, I can reveal that the 'aristocrat' is not all he seems. He is, in fact, a photographer who has no right to use the title of 'Sir', as he's neither a knight nor a baronet

The ‘aristocrat,’ however, is not what he claims to be. In fact, he is a photographer and has no rights to the title of Sir, since he’s not a knight or a baronet.

“The family was found in the first millennium and were members of an order of knights, so the title can be used in Europe. Although it cannot be placed on my passport I can still use it.

It seems that there are more reasons why his love for whisky ignited.

Cask Trade was told by him that he vividly recalls being served a dram in Scotland as a 15-year-old by a gamekeeper.

However, he said that only as a photographer while photographing so many distilleries was he asked to write about them.

This is your chance to be your very own bodice-ripper

Bodice-ripper Bridgerton will launch its own line of underwear.

I can disclose that studio bosses at Netflix have registered the title of the hit Regency costume drama — which starred Phoebe Dynevor and Rege-Jean Page (pictured) — with the Intellectual Property Office to protect the brand from pirates.

The trademark protection was applied to them in order to be allowed to create clothes (including undies) and other beauty products. Rubberstamped by the IPO were trademarks for dolls and food as well as Christmas decorations.

Taylor says, “I saw his films last five and concluded he is not an actor very well.” Ouch!
