Emily in Paris star Lucas Bravo has revealed how he is ‘working against’ his heartthrob label after he was ‘objectified overnight’ for his appearance in the Netflix show.  

The French actor, 33, shot to fame for his role as chef Gabriel in the hit comedy drama  – but has now said the fan frenzy over his good looks has made him ‘very self-aware’ of his appearance. 

Nice’s former model claimed that he was often pigeonholed because of his attractive looks. However, France doesn’t need ‘broken’ faces with ‘character’. 

He stated that it was difficult to appear intelligent and interesting when you’re not attractive. This is why he’s often cast as a dumb gym teacher.

He stated, “I am, like, an objectified overnight thing.” 

“It taught me self-awareness. Because when you think about that word and the people it encapsulates, you see always a healthy, good-looking, ripped person – and I’m not that.’

He stated that although he stays in great shape, his body can change and that there’s a lot of pressure on him to look good. 

He stated, “I don’t want to become perfect.” “I’ve been against it. France doesn’t desire good-looking people. They are looking for broken faces.
