Charley Webb is reportedly quitting Emmerdale after 19 years after her husband Matthew Wolfenden was allegedly caught up in a race row.

The actress, 33, has played Debbie Dingle on the soap opera for almost 20 years but is reportedly quitting the Yorkshire drama ‘for good’.

An insider told The Sun that Charley, who last appeared on Emmerdale at the start of the year, does not plan to return to the show, claiming that Matthew’s on-set row ‘fuelled’ her decision.

Goodbye! Charley Webb (33), who portrays Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale’s soap opera Emmerdale is said to be leaving the soap “for good”.

According to a source, ‘Charley will be closing Emmerdale’s doors for good.

She said that the past months had given her some time to reflect on the future. It is not one that involves Emmerdale.

“Matthew was caught in the set row, which led to her decision not to stay.

MailOnline was told by an Emmerdale spokesperson that there are currently no plans to bring Debbie Dingle back to Emmerdale.

Debbie is currently living in Scotland. She has not been on the show since January 1, and Chas Dingle, her aunt, confirmed that she would not return anytime soon.

Paddy Kirk said that Debbie was not returning home to celebrate Christmas.

Matthew, who plays David Metcalfe on the soap, said earlier this year that his wife was waiting for the world to return to normal before re-joining Emmerdale full time.

Matthew was embroiled on the set in an argument after being accused of making an unprofessional comment to a cast member from mixed race.

Matthew, 41, and Isabel Hodgins, who plays Victoria Sugden, were also faced with allegations that the actress’s accent had been mimicked. All allegations have been denied by both of them.

It was also claimed that Matthew had a row with his co-star Aaron Anthony, who plays Ellis Chapman, with Aaron reportedly telling Emmerdale bosses he will leave the show when his contract expires. 

Isabel Hodgins, his co-star on ITV’s soap, was alleged to have mimicked an accent from a mixed-race actress while on set.

Aaron, an Emmerdale actor was said to have abruptly quit the show because he feels ‘bitterly angrier’ about two of his fellow stars who were facing race probe.  

Aaron, who plays Ellis Chapman, told producers he will not be returning after his contract ends because he is furious with his colleagues’ alleged behaviour, claims The Sun.

Stars of the soap, both who have joined in 2006, deny racism allegations and suggest that it was all a mistake.  

Charley is deciding not to be on Emmerdale again after Debbie’s 19-year-old drama-filled Emmerdale stories.  

Debbie had a number of tense stories, including a relationship with Andy Sugden when she was 15 and her becoming a mom to Sarah at 15.

Debbie then falls in love with Jasmine Thomas, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman but was left heartbroken when her father Cain has an affair with her girlfriend, while she later had a relationship with killer Cameron Murray.

Cameron attempted to kill Debbie during a dramatic episode that saw them trying desperately to keep afloat after being trapped in the pub’s flood cellar.

A few more years later, Debbie is able to date Pete Barton, but then she begins an affair with Ross her brother. The pair plan to escape together days before Pete’s nuptials.

Debbie’s dad Cain discovered the plan. The couple proceeded to wed and Pete didn’t know about it until their first dance.

Pete was angry with Debbie. However, a helicopter crashed into the venue killing all guests. Ruby Haswell, Val Pollard They parted company later.

As Debbie and Ross’s relationships turn sour, she escapes prison for organizing an acid attack on Ross. 

In order to begin a new life, she moves to Scotland. However, it turns out that Al Chapman is cheating on Priya.
