Infuriated monkeys have taken 250 Indian dogs to an Indian settlement and dragged them high up on trees and buildings before dropping them.
Animal violence acts are said to be a revenge for the death of one monkey infant by dogs.
The horrific incidents have been reported from Lavul village in Maharashtra’s Beed district, where the monkeys have been running rampant for the last month.

News18 says that when a group of monkeys notices a baby, they take the pup to safety.
The reports say that in the last month alone, 250 dogs have been killed in this way, leaving Lavul with barely a single pup.
Images taken from video footage seemed to support the claims. Online images show one monkey carrying the puppy on his back and throwing it.
Some footage of the incident which sparked the revenge attacks also showed the dogs running after monkeys in the village, as children and local women fled for their lives. They appeared to be looking out for a child.
The village residents contacted the forest department asking for help in capturing the killing animals. News18 reports that even though officers went to the village, they couldn’t catch one monkey.
Villagers believe the monkeys want revenge.
According to them, the violence started when the dogs attacked a baby monkey.
After officials couldn’t solve the issue, the village took the initiative to save the dogs.

They did not succeed, and the monkeys responded by attacking their efforts. A news report reported that several men had fallen from high places to help dogs that were being carried there.
The monkeys, clearly not content with the destruction of dogs in the village are said to now be looking for young children.
The monkeys are apparently attacking school children, causing panic in the villages.
One incident saw an 8-year old boy being grabbed by monkeys and pulled along with them. Villagers were forced to throw stones at the monkeys to free him.
