Following learning of Eric Abidal’s relationship with Kheira Hamraoui (Paris Saint-Germain women’s footballer), the ex-French international is now seeking a divorce.
These links were discovered by investigators trying to determine who is behind Hamraoui’s attack this month. Hamraoui had her legs beaten and was then dragged outside of her car along with AminataDiallo, her teammate.
Hamraoui appealed earlier in the week to the media for privacy following the discovery by police that Hamraoui was using an Abidal-registered telephone SIM card during the attack.
“Hayet Abidan is going to file in Barcelona a divorce application,” her attorneys stated in a statement.
Eric Abidal was a French household name and was Barcelona’s sporting Director from 2018 to 2020. Hamraoui was there during that time with the women’s team.
After French prosecutors from Versailles, Paris announced the SIM-card link, the statement stated that Hamraoui ‘admitted’ to his wife having an affair.
Hayet Abial stated that she’reiterates’ her wish to be interviewed on an urgent basis in a case with multiple collateral victims.

Since 2007, the Abidals have been together and are a couple who met in Lyon, southeast France. They now have four daughters as well as a son.
Diallo did not suffer any injuries in the attack. He was interrogated for close to 35 hours and then released on bail.
PSG Club was shocked by the attack and the aftermath. The two were considered friends for their midfield roles.
Hamraoui, who was left out in PSG’s defeat to Real Madrid by 2-0 on Thursday night, saw them secure their spot in the Women’s Champions League quarter-finals.
Hamraoui was 31 years old and had to be stitched after she was hit with an ironbar.
French sports newspaper L’Equipe have released details from the police on how the attack took place, detailing how Diallo drove Hamraoui to and from a team meal in a Toyota Corolla provided by the club, dropping off another player afterwards – Sakina Karchaoui – before the attack began in Chatou, Yvelines.
Hamraoui was attacked and beaten by masked men. They have revealed the details and timeline of their attack using an iron bar.
After the attack Hamraoui needed stitches in her legs and hands. She missed last week’s Champions League match.
“Meanwhile, my attacker struck me multiple times with an Iron Bar,” said Hamraoui. Hamraoui said that he had primarily targeted my legs, and that I tried to defend myself using my hands.
“At the time, I did not see any weapon.” They yell immediately: “Open my door!” The door is open! I was grabbed by the one to my right and helped me get out.
“Before, the man grabbed an iron bar of rectangular shape that was hidden under or in his pants.
“He struck me with a single blow in the beginning of my assault, to get me out of the cabin. I fell to the left side of the road after falling on the pavement.
“My attacker struck me several times with an iron rod. I realized that he was targeting my legs. I attempted to protect my own hands with my hands.
“The scene was quite long, and it felt very lengthy to me. Aminata said it took longer. The reason the cars came into the streets, I believe the pair fled.
They ran towards the traffic. They quickly vanished from our sight. They should have a car waiting nearby.
Abidal, who was the Barcelona sporting director for two-years before leaving, took over as this role.
Abidal is married to Hayet from 2003. Together they have five kids.
Hamraoui can also be referred to as hearing “you like to have sex with married men” during the attack, which was confirmed by Diallo. Diallo was being ‘detained’ by the second person throughout the attack.
She sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the hospital. However, she is now being supported by a psychologist.
The 42-year-old Abidal has been married to his wife, Hayet Abidal, since 2003 and they have five children together. Le MondeIt is possible that she might be called on as a witness. Abidal’s lawyer was contacted and said: ‘I have spoken with him, but for now I won’t tell you anything at all.’
Diallo released this statement about the accusations: “Aminata Diallo regrets the artificial dramatization of a rivalry among her and Kheira Hamraoui that would justify her taking it out upon her team-mate.”
“This theory doesn’t correspond to their true relationship.
Investigators now look at other more serious leads, but they don’t implicate my client.
“Aminata Diallo regretted the media furore which had already sent her to prison, without basis. However, she wants to stress that she won’t hesitate to fight any defamation through legal action if necessary.
