A woman’s family found her dead at home has paid respect to her ‘kind-hearted and generous’ mother. 

June Fox-Roberts (65), was found with numerous knife wounds at her three-bedroom detached house in Llantwit Fardre near Pontypridd. She had lived there alone.

After receiving a distressing call, a relative called police and informed them that Mrs Roberts had been found dead.  

Mrs Fox-Roberts’ detached £200,000 home was cordoned off by police today and nearby woodland was being searched by officers. 

South Wales Police has arrested a suspect in murder. 

Family members of Mrs Fox-Roberts, being assisted by officers trained in the field, stated that they are shocked at their mother’s death. We will never understand her murder.

“She was kindhearted and generous, always happier when she was with her family and friends.

“She was a loving mother to her children and they will be forever in our hearts. We are devastated.

“Please respect and honor our privacy. We need to be able to mourn and deal with the past.

Mrs Roberts was an IT consultant and ran many companies from her cottage in the village.    

One former client stated that it was shocking to hear her be so successful.

“She was through a difficult and complicated divorce years back, but she was an devoted mother and grandmother.”

Martin, her husband had left her. He later died riding off his bicycle from a Cornwall cliff. It is now understood.

A suicide verdict was recorded by an inquest after hearing from him that he wanted to “fly away”.

Locals claimed that Sebastian, Abigail, and Tristan were the three adult children of the couple. They all have been active in the family’s IT business.

Her grandmother, who had resided on the land for 40+ years, was highly respected and loved by her community.

Mike Robinson (73), a neighbor, stated that his daughter attended school alongside one of her kids – she was quiet and we rarely saw her.

“She wasn’t friendly. But she had an interesting life.

The police stated that the murder had shocked everyone and increased patrols were put in place to assure the people.

Detective Superintendent Darren George, said: ‘My thoughts are with June’s family at this awful time – we have specially trained officers who are supporting them.

“Today’s arrest marks a significant milestone, however I want to stress that this is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact me immediately.

“This crime has shocked everyone in the village, and all of its surrounding communities.

“Our visibility has improved in the village and I am hopeful that this will reassure the community.”
