The competition, which is held in mid-April, welcomes the Nepali New 12 months and marks the arrival of the spring season.

The chariot of the deity Bhairavnath was pulled to Thimi on the fifth day of Biska Jatra on Friday.

Throughout the competition, the residents of Thane (higher) and Kwane (decrease) quarters of the Bhaktapur Durbar Sq., a palace complicated, tug the three-storey pagoda-style chariot, which carries statues of Bhairavnath and Betaal.
