An alleged football fan spitting on a Tottenham player during Wednesday’s Premier League match between Leicester and Tottenham has led to him being arrested.
It looked like the north London club was going to lose 2-1, but Steven Bergwijn scored two dramatic goals that sealed the win.
In stoppage time, the substitute made a second goal to put the away team in panic. Their side moved to within one point from the Champions League positions.
But the Top-Flight Battle has been overshadowed when a King Power Stadium Supporter was detained.
“An 22-year old man from Bedfordshire was arrested under suspicion of assault.” According to a Leicestershire Police spokesperson, he would remain under police supervision.
“It is alleged that he spat on a game steward.”
