According to reports, the Department of Health may be considering a temporary suspension of Covid’s vaccination policy. This could lead to 73,000 NHS employees losing their jobs. Staff shortage is a concern.

Boris Johnson allegedly told MPs that he wants to relax this policy.

In a sign of the NHS’s pressure decreasing, however, the London incident last month was resolved.

According to reports, the Department of Health may consider suspending temporarily Covid’s vaccination policy. This could lead to 73,000 NHS employees losing their jobs.

Sadiq Khan placed the capital under emergency on 18 December amid an increase in viral cases and staff absenteeism.

Yesterday London’s mayor declared that Plan B curbs had been successful in relieving pressure on critical service providers and that the incident was over. 

He said, “Our NHS and Emergency Services have been exceptional during a very difficult period in our city.”

“Everyone who put on a mask and took the lateral flow test, or practiced working from home, played their part.”

He warned, however: “The Omicron variant and virus are still with us. Daily infection rates remain too high. This is why everyone must be vigilant.

Covid infections are down by 27% in the last week. Yesterday, another 94,587 cases were reported. 

This is a decrease from January 4, when 218,724 people died. Another 288 have also died.
