George Clooney said that he was waiting for his switch to go off after being in a motorcycle accident that could have caused him death.
Speaking to The Sunday Times in a new interview, the Hollywood icon reflected on the moment he thought was the ‘last minute of my life’ as well as turning 60.
Back in 2018, George was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car in Sardinia, while he was on the Italian island filming Catch 22, a TV adaptation of Joseph Heller’s book of the same name.

Clooney fell from his bike and crashed into the windscreen after the Mercedes that was in front of Clooney turned.
Italian carabinieri called the driver, and sent an ambulance and municipal police to George. While George was down, George noticed that a lot of people were watching him from their phones.
George recalled the accident and said, “I was waiting for mine to switch off.” Now, I am fine.
‘If your public image is a problem, the reality of what happens when you get on the ground and think it’s the final minute of your life, is that for some people it will be just entertainment.

George also ventured into filmmaking over his 43-year career. He admitted that he’s a “pretty optimistic guy” but realized that he was here ‘for their entertainment.
In May, Ocean’s Eleven’s star celebrated his milestone birthday, his 60th, with Amal, his wife of seven-years.
“Turning 60 can be a pain.” It’s either that or death, he stated.

Also, the Academy Award Winner recalled telling Amal “knock on wood,” he said to Amal that he is healthy.
George enjoys playing basketball with his ‘younger friends’. But he is already planning for his 80th birthday.
He called the following 20 years ‘halcyon,’ concluding his tell-all interview saying that he wanted to celebrate those.
