Noel Phillips of Good Morning Britain is left “shaken” after being attacked racially in London and beaten.

Noel Phillips is a Good Morning Britain presenter and has now revealed that he was racially attacked, mugged, and spat upon, which left him shaken.

GMB’s North America correspondent Phillips informed concerned followers via Twitter about an alleged “ruthless thief” who attacked Phillips in a central London street early Saturday morning.

He posted a photo of a man being held down by two Met Police officers and thanked officers Sergeant Clark & PC Busson for helping ‘catch and detain’ him.

Today at midday Mr Phillips took to Twitter and said: “I was mugged, assaulted racially, and spat on yesterday along a busy London street.” It’s all okay. I was just shaken.

‘Thanks to Sgt Clark & PC Busson from @metpoliceuk Euston town centre team for helping me catch and detain the ruthless thief.’

A TV journalist was greeted by supportive comments from his colleagues, as well as fans responding to the post.

Metropolitan Police confirm that the 17-year old suspect has been taken into custody. 

His arrest on suspicion of Robbery and Racially Aggravated Public Order Offence has led to his current detention.

They said that the accused robber wasn’t hurt and are continuing to investigate the matter.

Met spokeswoman said, “An officer on patrol in central London stopped a robbery and arrested a man.”

The incident was reported by WC1.

After some comments from others, a 17 year-old boy was arrested for suspicions of robbery. He’s still being held.

The man who was robbed wasn’t hurt.
