Snoop Dogg made the announcement of the Golden Globe nominees at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on Monday morning.

While there were plenty of titles that made it to the list (such as Ted Lasso’s West Side Story and West Side Story), there was also a lot more that didn’t make it, including some films and actors that were overlooked, some quite shocking.

Meryl has received almost 30 Golden Globe nominations throughout her professional career. She was however not honored for her role in Don’t Look Up as President of The United States JanieOrlean.

However, her co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence were both nominated.

The movie dramas “The Power of the Dog”, and “Belfast” were nominated for the Golden Globe Awards. This is a year marked by controversy and an abridged ceremony.

The ‘Belfast’ set in Northern Ireland during 1970s was 7 Nods. Jane Campion’s film ‘The Power of the Dog,’ received seven nods.

The comedy ‘Don’t Look Up’, a satire about global warming and ‘King Richard’ was followed by the new musical version of ‘West Side’ Story’ directed Steven Spielberg and the come-of-age story ‘Licorice Pizza’ which featured 4 people each.

Netflix films received a lead 17 nominations.

This year the media association went from being a joke, to being a pariah.

After a Los Angeles Times’ expose detailed some of the HFPA´s unethical behavior and revealed that its 87 voting members didn’t include one black journalist, studios said they would boycott the Globes and more than 100 PR films said their clients wouldn’t participate until the HFPA swiftly implemented ‘profound and lasting change.’

Tom Cruise actually returned the three Globes he received to the group’s headquarters.

After nine months of reform and reorganization, and many promises to improve, the HFPA does what it does every year this time: It gathers reporters at the Beverly Hilton in the morning to announce its television and film nominations.

At 9 AM EST, the Globes announced that they had made an announcement.

Critics believe the Globes may not be ready for the spotlight yet.

The majority of the movie industry decided to ignore the HFPA or keep it at arm’s length during this awards season. The majority of studios, public relations firms and A-list talent haven´t cooperated with the group, which this year has done away with its usual requirement for nominees to be submitted.

Sad day: Selena Gomez was not nominated for her role in Only Murders In The Building though her costars Martin Short and Steve Martin were. And the series landed in the Best TV Series, Musical Or Comedy category

On Monday mornings, the people nominated might not celebrate. Others may say “No thanks!”

NBC will not be airing their annual program, but the Globes have decided to skip the entire season.

According to the press association, it believes that they have made all necessary reforms. Helen Hoehne, recently elected president of HFPA 2.0 said.

The group was hit hard by backlash in early this year. It has since hired a chief diversity officer, restructured its board, inducted 21 members including six Black journalists, and brought in the NAACP for a five-year partnership.

Much of the Globes´ power has always resided in its lively telecast, regularly one of the most-watched non-sports broadcasts of the year – though ratings for it, like all award shows, have fallen sharply in recent years. Many of the award-hopefuls who are hitting theatres this December use the Globes as promotional tools.

NBC, the Globes´ longtime telecaster, in May said it won´t air the 2022 Globes because ‘change of this magnitude takes time and work.’

However, the Globes set January 9 as the date to announce winners. The HFPA doesn’t have any specifics about the ceremony.
