Good Morning Britain viewers condemned the show’s Christmas Day ‘depressing everybody’ with a video of’montages of misery’ that featured the biggest stories for the year.

Pre-recorded episodes saw Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid reminisce about 2021. However, fans weren’t impressed as there wasn’t much to take away from this recap.

This book focuses on a year filled with political turmoil, coronavirus and Black Lives Matter, Sarah Everard’s assassination, Shamima Begum’s appeal to the UK, Captain Tom Moore’s suicide, and other noteworthy stories.

“A monte of misery!”Good Morning Britain viewers attacked the show because it depressed everyone on Friday, as it was aired on Christmas Day.

On Twitter, one viewer commented: “This #GMBmontage could scarcely have been more sad if it tried.”

Another chimed in with: “Nice Montage of Misery from #gmb today.” It was very uplifting. While a third wrote, “GMB depressing all on Christmas day.” 

Good Morning Britain was present on Lorraine, and This Morning aired Christmas Day for only the second time in its history.

ITV Daytime revealed the news in a statement last month. They said that the three major morning programs would try to make December ‘even better than usual’ after an uncertain festive season.

GMB will no longer air until next year due to the Covid surge. 

Although the show was originally scheduled for Wednesday, December 29, to Friday, December 31, the bosses decided to cancel it in order to “protect” the television team.  

In a statement, a spokesperson for the show said that they had decided to extend their break due to the pandemic.

“GMB” will no longer broadcast this week. However, it will return to the airwaves on Tues. 4th January 2022.

Elsewhere in GMB’s Christmas episode, Ben shared his delight at being on air alongside his friends, insisting he had simply done as he was told by television bosses.

While appearing with Kate and Susanna, he joked that he was now the “filling in in for Christmas sandwiches”.

He joked that Santa had delivered on his promise to him during the broadcast. This GMB Christmas sandwich has given me the great privilege of filling it.

“I was put here. This is not my fault!” I am doing exactly what is asked of me, and I have always done so.

Susanna laughed and said, “We were told you specifically asked for us this morning in your Christmas stocking.”

After discussing whether or not they were naughty in 2021 with Ben, the trio went on to talk about their respective experiences. Ben admitted that he was ‘probably a mix of both’.

Kate stated that she felt there was a lot naughtiness around.

Meanwhile, Spandau Ballet’S Martin Kemp, 60, and his wife Shirlie, 59, joined the hosts by video link from their Christmas Grotto home to remember the late George Michael and how he made the holiday season special for their family.

He was 53 years old when he died in his home at Christmas 2016. 

Speaking of her dear friend, Shirlie said: ‘I think of him every day… I thank him really, because he gave me some of the best Christmases I’ve ever had. 

“He was a magician and invited everyone to come to his home. It was always stunning.

Martin stated that it was our close friends who made Christmas so special. We can now forget about the terrible part of his passing. It has been long enough. However, it is now long enough to be able to see the good bits.

Shirlie continued, “I know that God would like us to have a wonderful Christmas.” I try my best to avoid being sad.

Martin said: “Every Christmas, no matter what present Roman got for Christmas, George came around with an even better gift!” 

“I still recall clearly when he first brought me the Playstation. One year later, he also brought me an electric Batmobile!”

After Tom Parker was diagnosed with a brain tumour, The Wanted performed a cappella of some of their songs in studio.

Tom (33 years old) said that he was thrilled to be singing with the group. He also stressed that he didn’t expect to be capable of doing so for a year after discovering his cancer.

“I am just trying to be truthful.” Although it’s not common to find yourself in this situation a year later, I am just glad to be back with my boys. Their age is now that they are causing havoc on Daddy!

Max George, 33 years old, said that everything fell into place right away after they had been together for seven long years. We were all quite nervous, I believe. We met up for a photoshoot, and it wasn’t long before we were all like “Okay, everything hasn’t changed.”

Siva Kaneswaran (33) agreed, saying: “I believe 2020 brought reality too to all of us, how we missed one another and not to worry about the little stuff.”

Max said, “Especially Tom’s situation.” “We are a group of brothers. We have to make this happen again.”

SIva shared her thoughts on the greatest things about getting back together. It was a special moment.

Nathan Sykes (28 years old) concluded that being in a band together with Tom was the best gift they’ve received this Christmas.
