Star Hobson, the father of Star Hobson’s toddler murder victim, has stated that he would never be able to recover from his “callous and cruel” way in which his precious daughter was taken.
After Savannah Brockhill’s murder, Savannah Hobson was sentenced to life imprisonment. Frankie Smith (20 years old) was given an eight year term for permitting her daughter’s death.
According to court records, Hobson was a student at university and split with Smith. She then began an unhealthy relationship with Brockhill.
Today the father, who was grieving for his daughter Star, stated that he is still devastated over Star’s death.
My precious daughter will never be brought back by any sentence a court may impose.
“I’d like to request privacy in order to start my grief and try to find the right way to move forward with my life.”

Star Smith’s daughter, Frankie Smith, was the one who split from Mr Hobson as a student. She then began an unhealthy relationship with Brockhill. A judge heard this earlier in the week.
The photo taken by West Yorkshire Police shows swelling and bruising on Star Hobson, 16 months old.
Star’s mother Frankie Smith (L), 20 was cleared of murder. However, she was found guilty in Bradford Crown Court for causing or permitting the death of her child, after three days. Savannah Brockhill, 28, (R) was unanimously found guilty of Star Hobson’s murder.
Brockhill, 28 years old, was sentenced to a minimum 25 year term in prison by Star. The judge said Star’s short lived life was marked by neglect, cruelty, injury.
Judge Brockhill sentenced Smith to prison on Wednesday. He said that Star, a ‘fatal punch, or kick’, to Star at Smith Flat in Keighley West Yorkshire had caused Star to lose half of her blood supply and injured her internal organs.
Star had suffered brain injuries and multiple rib fractures. She also sustained the fracture of her leg.
Star was transported to the hospital by Smith from Wesley Place in Keighley on September 22nd 2020. Prosecutors said that her injuries were “utterly catastrophic” and “unsurvivable”.
West Yorkshire Police issued an undated handout photo to Star Hobson (16 months) who was killed in an accident at Star’s home in Keighley in West Yorkshire on September 20, 2020.
Bernard Hobson spoke out on Wednesday to tell Mrs Justice Lambert that his son was too weak to speak for himself. However, he said that he’s ‘heartbroken by the tragic loss of his daughter and is haunted’.
Bernard Hobson said to Star: “What did Star Do to deserve that Star’s life, which was just beginning, be ended so early?”
“It was hard for me to understand that someone we know could be so cruel.”
He stated, “Star was taken away. Her life had just begun.”
Jordan Hobson made these statements just hours after Frankie Star, Star’s long-term companion and her great grandmother’s images were published.

David Fawcett, aged 61, was Smith’s partner, and the photographer of Anita Smith who raised her. They were taken by David Fawcett, the partner of Smith’s great-grandmother Anita Smith. He expressed his hope that it would help to remind her how she was before Brockhill.
MailOnline, Mr Fawcett said that Frankie is a beautiful woman and not the person she was after her relationship with Brockhill.
They tell you how innocent and gentle she was. And she still seems like this, in spite of all that has happened. Frankie is the next person we plan to put them behind bars. This will allow us to bring back the girl who we actually know and not just the one who was convicted.
Frankie Smith was a little girl years ago, when her face was painted as a cat. This picture is of Frankie Smith in her teen years.
Smith appears here in her school uniform. She is also seen right in a 2009 photo in which she was captured in never-before-seen photographs of her childhood.
David Fawcett took the photographs of Smith. He was also her partner in Anita Smith who raised her.
Fawcett said Smith stood beside her Chopper bicycle, which she still has.
Fawcett stated that he took the pictures to show Smith’s family how she looked before her relationship with Savannah Brockhill.
Death partners: Savannah Brockhill (28), and Frankie Smith (20) were each sentenced to death this week for the murder of Star.
Brockhill was called ‘violent and controlling’ during her trial. Smith’s family claims that Smith changed because of Brockhill.
These photos of Star in her early years of their relationship were taken after it was revealed that Star’s former boss at Children Service was highly praised shortly before his resignation.
Mark Douglas resigned from his £120,000-a-year post as Bradford Council’s Director of Children’s Services just five days before Smith, 20 and Brockhill, 28 went on trial in October.
However, just before the public announcement of his retirement, Kersten England sent staff an email in which he praised him.
Smith wore a witch’s cap and made up many years before becoming a mother.
It stated in the email: “I want to take this opportunity to thank Mark For His Contributions and Achievements Since He Joined the Council In 2019” Mark led an improvement program that involved many stakeholders. This was primarily focused on Children’s Social Care, where there has been progress in quality.
Fawcett retorted: “How can anyone think Mr Douglas, or any other member of his department has done a great job? Star and her family will find that ridiculous.
Smith called him “grandad” while he lived with Anita from 14-16 years.
Fawcett shared that Smith was standing next to her Chopper bike which she still owns. Other memories that are special to her include strawberry picking in Yorkshire and the ‘coming-of-age picture she took at her high school prom in a blue gown with make up.
He said, “That was Frankie all her life.” When she was young, she enjoyed dressing up in Disney costumes because she wanted the role of princess.
Additional photos show Smith at various family camping events, getting ready for trick-or-treating on Halloween, and visiting a local fair.
Fawcett said that Smith’s mother, Yvonne Spendley, and her father Andrew Smith raised Smith in Shipley in West Yorkshire. Her mother was the oldest of five siblings and she had two younger sisters, Ruby and Isla. Harrison was her younger brother.
There were also two half-sisters who lived near her and one half-brother.
He stated that although we all lived in close proximity and did not have lots of money, it was a great family experience. It was full of fun and love.
“Out of all of my grandchildren, Frankie was my closest grandchild. That’s because we shared a special bond. And that bond hasn’t been broken by the awful things that’ve happened.

Smith’s father Andrew and mother Yvonne Fawcett told Mr Fawcett that Smith was brought up in Shipley in West Yorks in a terraced house.
She was the eldest child of five and had three older sisters: Ruby, India, and Isla. Harrison was her brother younger.

At Bradford Crown Court, Star was subject to horrific injuries and cruel treatment by Brockhill and Smith.
Star was unable to live a long life after Brockhill ‘punched on, stamped on or kicked’ him in the stomach. Smith, however, left the living area to use the restroom, according to court hearings.
Star was left with bleeding abdominal cavities after the September savagery.
Prosecutors claim that her injuries were due to a violent and powerful blow (or blows) ‘either punching. stamping. or kicking to abdomen. These injuries, which were similar to serious car crash injuries, were described by the toddler.
Smith and Brockhill dialled 999 instead. Brockhill searched for “how to save a baby from shock” and it took 11 minutes before Brockhill tried CPR. Then, Brockhill called an ambulance.
Star was dead by the time she reached hospital.
Court also heard Ms Smith contact social services following learning of play-fights at Star’s flat that included a ‘choke slam’ wrestle maneuver.
According to her, Star was lifted by her neck or throat then pushed onto the bed.
Ms Smith said to the jury, “I said, “What are you doing with that baby?” Smith said that Smith was playing with the baby and it wasn’t harming her.
Great grandmother said that Smith lost interest after Brockhill met and the incident occurred before Smith.
She continued, “She was talking and dressing as a traveller. It was Savannah.” Savannah was her only focus, and she asked for friendship.
“She was too busy to bother with her family and kept on using her smartphone all day.”
Brockhill, a club bouncer and Smith were both indicted this week on charges of involvement in Smith’s killing of Star, Smith’s daughter.
Star’s treatment was also discussed in court.
Social workers concluded that Star Smith had not visited the apartment where Star lived. This was despite the fact that Star and Fawcett objected both to Brockhill’s traveller history and the possibility of Smith having same-sex relationships.
The court was told that Smith had met Brockhill in The Sun in Bradford, where she was working at the door. They began an ‘on-off’ relationship in November 2019.
Mr Fawcett stated that they were shocked because she had always been with boyfriends.
Smith was accused of developing a strange and unhealthy obsession with Savanah, her girlfriend, at the expense Star Hobson (her daughter), which led to her being told by a judge.
According to Mr Fawcett, it was a volatile relationship and that his granddaughter changed her communication style. She used’mams’ instead o’mums’ and yous’ instead o ‘you’.
He explained that she hadn’t spoken this way for 18 years and was now. It was odd, I thought, that her behavior had changed. That concerned me.
Frankie told Frankie that Savannah was going to destroy her life. He told the court that she had marks on her neck.
