After two years’ teacher-based marking, GCSE grades are predicted to plummet by a record level this year. 

After marks rose during the pandemic, teachers decided grades and exams were cancelled. Grade inflation has been reversed. All students who fail to receive a 4. in English or maths are asked to sit again until they reach 18.
