Carlos Marin from Il Divo is a star of Covid-19. The band was placed in an induced coma at Manchester’s hospital intensive care unit. They were forced to cancel their UK tour.
Corazon Corazon in Spain reported that the 53-year old singer fell ill with Covid December 7. He was hospitalized for seven days citing Marin as his agent.
Under strict supervision at Manchester Royal Hospital, he is currently in intensive care. A Spanish newspaper reported that the star was stable, but his oxygen levels were compromised and that he is currently being intubated.
TVE reports: “Everyday the singer had been telling [his agent]Carlos said he felt worse the last time they talked. The singer didn’t respond to his messages yesterday, and he is currently in intensive care.
Il Divo said today they were ‘hoping and praying’ for Marín after the group were forced to cancel their UK tour.
Il Divo made their first comment on Mr Marín’s condition this afternoon, tweeting: ‘Our dear friend and partner, Carlos, is in the hospital. We wish him a quick recovery.
Two weeks ago, Mr Marín shared a selfie video (left) from beside a pool in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, to promote the final leg of Il Divo’s tour. He shared the video below a week before his concert in Brighton. Both times he appeared happy and healthy.

Primer Beat is a music promoter. He was the organizer of the concert scheduled in La Coruna, north-west Spain, on December 22, but it has since been cancelled.
According to La Voz de Galicia, the company said that he felt sick a few days back. He was determined to go on with the concert and hoped that he would quickly recover.
“We were informed Tuesday by his manager in Europe that he decided to cancel all his concerts for the precaution of safety and to put them back on the schedule.
According to his agent, Geraldine Larrosa, Geraldine’s ex-wife was present at the hospital with him. Although they split 12 years ago, they are still great friends. They will perform together on TVE1 New Year’s Eve.
French singer Geraldine Larrosa (her stage name is Innocence) revealed that she recorded a Spanish TV New Year’s Eve special with her ex-husband in which they sang Bohemian Rhapsody.
Carlos remains in the hospital. Il Divo had to cancel its UK concert series for this year. However, Carlos posted photographs of herself with her dancers and she wrote alongside them: ‘Finally, the New Year’s Eve programme has been recorded.
“Our song, Bohemian Rhapsody is our song of the Year. Carlos and I were very pleased to share our wonderful friendships as dancers. With the entire spanish population, we are happy to share December 31 celebrations on TVE1. We hope to see you again soon.
The Il Divo singer was not able to respond. Fans bombarded her with questions, but she remained silent.
A South American fan wrote: “Hello Innocence.”
“I’ll be there to watch your New Year’s Eve broadcast from Colombia, but I wanted to also ask about reports that Carlos was admitted to an intensive care unit in England for respiratory issues.
He was prayed for by his friends, and she wrote: “Could that you please tell us if this information is correct?”
Another one said, “Hello beautiful Geraldine.” Carlos is now in hospital. It is true or false?

Innocence’s New Year’s Eve message left one female fan puzzled. Her choice of Marin smiling for the illustration on Spanish TV was interpreted as: “I thought Carlos had been in hospital on a ventilator.”
The snap was added by Il Divo Venezuela fan members: “Dear Innocence.” Let us know what Carlos is doing. The statement that he is in hospital and the fact that he has a severe condition have made us very concerned.

Il Divo’s concert in Bath on December 6 was the last time he was seen on stage and he was admitted to hospital two days later, El Espanol reported. Il Divo announced that the gigs in Hull & Nottingham had been cancelled and, as a result, all other shows were postponed up to 2022.
Il Divo or Mr Marín’s bandmates, Urs Buhler, Sébastien Izambard and David Miller, are yet to comment on the nature of Mr Marín’s illness. MailOnline reached out for comments to Marin’s representative.
Three years after his split with the 44-year old, he remained close to him and was seen at events together (including this Madrid concert).

This comes days after Il Divo had announced that they would postpone their remaining UK tours dates to 2022 because of ‘illness.
Il Divo posted that they had suspended their tour and said: ‘Unfortunately, dueto illness, Il Divo’s December 2021 UK concert dates have been postponed to December 2022.
‘Il Divo is sorry to all their fans but we look forward returning to the road this year and meeting you all during the Christmas period.
Il Divo – which means ‘star’ in Italian – had been scheduled to perform two festive European shows, one in Lisbon and another in La Coruña, and the latter show was recently postponed until July 15, 2022.
Baritone Marin, a Star of Il Divo from its Inception in 2003 to now has sold over 30 million albums all around the globe.
These guys are often referred to as the “pioneers” of operatic pop (or ‘popera”) and they have sold more that two million tickets around the globe.
Simon Cowell created Il Divo after creating a quartet of international classical singers inspired and motivated by the opera group The Three Tenors.
Last month a 72-year-old woman from Barcelona was convicted of coercion and fined €60 for sending Mr Marín explicit and threatening letters.
The woman – named only as Rosa – was also given a six-month restraining order preventing her from coming within 500metres of Mr Marín.
His lawyer filed an appeal against the lightness of her sentence, noting he’d had to change his ‘work and life habits’, The Olive Press reported.
