Danny Miller, who played the gay Emmerdale character Aaron Dingle in this episode, said that he believes his portrayal helped to “change perceptions”.

He, a 30-year-old actor who played Aaron for a few years, recently left the soap.

He said that he just kind of said it and didn’t think too much about it. I then went on to say, “Yeah! I would love to be in a position to portray something which hasn’t been done before in soap.” 

“There are obviously homosexual characters on soap. But it is against all stereotypes. It made me wonder if that would work.

“At the time it was 13 years ago, people didn’t accept it as much as they do today. Part of that helped shift some opinions about it.

Matty stated that his generation was not nice in high school. Without being punched, I could not even become a diver.

Matty, in Telegraph, said that he would be bullied for being a diver. It’s not because I am petite. 

‘And it’s a shame because people should be who they want to be, whether it’s their profession, whether it’s their sexuality, their gender, their race… people should be able to do what they want to do.’

The Olympian continued of David: ‘When he retired, the one thing he missed is the one thing you can’t really get again – walking into a jam-packed stadium and hearing the crowd buzzing. It is scary to realize that I don’t have as much time left in the diving industry.

Adam Woodyatt said, “It was fascinating to hear David talk about his career ending and the aftermath and how that affects him and other players.”

It’s very limited time to accomplish something. My career and my job allow me to continue acting for as long as possible.

David was unable to finish it. Danny tried again and again. He drank so much wine on one attempt that he had to tag out and let Danny go.

Latrer, David finally received word from his girlfriend Maëva, 32, and their three-year-old daughter Ever during Thursday night’s episode.

Danny was ready to read David’s letter. David laughed and said, “It’s French so focus.”

‘We love you lots and lots and lots, Jessie, DJ and Sam… PS. Frankie: I will find the photo of me and her at 6 years old, when we met S Club Juniors.

Simon said: ‘David just doesn’t care – ‘I’m out there, enjoying my moment, get out of my space, the floor’s mine – bosh!’

Louise said: ‘Couldn’t have asked for a more lovely thing to happen – all dancing and singing together.’

Simon commented, “It’s been a wonderful night. Everybody had a lot of fun and it was everything we needed.” Thank you Castle Inn.’

David stated, “Tonight is an unforgettable night.”
