Declan Donnelly, Ant McPartlin, and Declan McPartlin are I’m A Celebrity hosts. They shared the story of how they found new life after being removed from the camp by Storm Arwen.

Due to storm damage, the ITV hit show was unable to air for three nights. The celebrities were placed in quarantine following a week at Gwrych Castle. The celebrities have since returned to their camp.

On Tuesday’s This Morning the presenters revealed that many stars struggled to adjust to normal life. Some even took to sleeping on a floor.

Discussing the damage to camp, Ant said:  ‘The only reason they took the celebrities out of there was because we felt it was mean keeping them in there when we can’t film them, we can’t do trials with them.

We took them to quarantine. It’s the same as before the show. There are no smartphones, internet or phones.

Dec said, “They had been there for the better part of a whole week. They were bonded. It was a sad time to have to go.

Arlene Phillips brought her sleeping bag along to her digs. Danny Miller (Baby) is now sleeping on the floor as he doesn’t like the comfort of the bed. They are keen to be back inside because they want the whole experience.

Get me back in there! The hit ITV show was pulled off-air for three nights due to damage caused by the storm - with the celebrities forced back into quarantine after a week in Gwrych Castle, due to safety fears. They have now returned to camp (pictured last week)

They were absolutely distraught to be leaving and said, “Just get them back in as soon you can.”

An irritated Ant commented: “Frankie Bridge did not take her whole knickers and wash them in the sink, because they smell.” They are all things that I have heard.

Dec spoke out about the severity of the storm and said that the storm had already started. So, Dec prerecorded it so that we could go home.

“We returned to our cottages, and we could hear the wind howling. We knew that it was very rough. On Saturday, we received a phone call stating that the winds had almost destroyed our tech base.

The site was considered unsafe and nobody was allowed to go back. The only option was to cancel the entire show, which was a terrible decision. It was necessary for the celebrities to return to quarantine.

“The production team has been amazing in getting celebs back so that we can restart the show.” Everyone involved has made a tremendous effort.

Fears were raised that the series might be cancelled this year after the hurricane. Ant stated: “They could quite possibly have said that there was too much damage to the production base, so we won’t get back on air, but they’ve been working round the clock.”

Drama has plagued the 2021 series, with Richard Madeley leaving after falling ill. He broke the Covid secure bubble by visiting the hospital.

Dec stated that he tried for years to convince him, and each year we kept pushing him. This year he said yes but it was a strange turn. This was extremely frustrating.

“Physically, it was okay to do it. But it broke the restraints which was frustrating.

Ant responded, “It is a little worry that there will be more severe weather in the next week.” We can handle some snow, but not too much frost. Fingers crossed.

Campmate: A cheeky Ant added: 'Although Frankie (Bridge) did take all her knickers to wash in the sink because they smell. I hear these things'

It’s been difficult. It’s great to be back on TV tonight.

Dec responded, “We never get this here in Australia!”The celebs are returning to camp, we will shoot a trial tonight, then hopefully business can be resumed as usual.”

On Tuesday, AJ Pritchard, a former campmate claimed that the stars were at a spa retreat’ and eating all they could while quarantine was in effect.

Former Strictly star and presenter of the 2020 series said:

Imagine you are going in to the cold inside the castle knowing that you will face trials.

“They can eat all they want and then they will get hot again.
