You need to get me out! Amazing moment: A newborn twin PUNCHES out of her amniotic sac just moments after her sister has been delivered

  • Elis was the name of the baby girl who was still in her intact amniotic cyst.
  • The infant managed to open the sac using her small hand just moments after Isis, her sister, was born.
  • Rosangela Maria Sousa Soares, Rosangela’s mother, described the moment in a’magical’ way.

The moment that a new twin, just seconds after her sister’s birth, punches through an amniotic capsule is amazing.

Named Elis by her family, the little girl was delivered still within its intact body. However, she somehow managed to open it with one tiny hand.

Mother Rosangela Maria Sousa Soares described that the moment in Goiania’s maternity hospital was’magical.

Just moments after sister’s delivery, the twins managed to push their way through the amniotic cyst.

Rosangela is from Crixas and gave birth via caesarian to identical twins Isis & Elis.

Isis was the first to emerge, followed by Elis who was still in her amniotic sac. She was later filmed breaking it with her little hand.

They were healthy and weighed 4lbs 14 oz each, while the girls weighed in at 1 oz.

Both the mother and the twins could return to their homes two days following the birth.

Rosangela has a husband and two children. One is a daughter and one is a son.

According to Case Reports in Obstetrics & Gynology, en caul births are those in which the baby was born intact from its amniotic sac. They are very rare.

The risk of having an en caul birth is not known to both the mother and the baby. Because the amniotic sac is usually punctured by the scalpel, they are less likely to occur during caesarean sections.

The amniotic capsule, which is filled mostly with amniotic liquid (a yellow fluid that keeps the baby warm and protected during pregnancy), usually bursts when the baby is due.

WHAT IS EN CAUL BIRTH?

A baby born “en caul” means that a small portion of the amniotic membrane or sac remains on the infant’s head after birth.

The incidence is less than 1 in 100,000.

The caul, a thin and filmy membrane, can attach to the head, face, and ears. It could also drape over part of the body and cover the head.

Healthcare professionals can remove the caul by gently peeling it off of your skin.

To allow baby to breathe, incisions should be made around the nostrils.

These loops can be removed carefully from the back of baby’s ears.

According to folklore, cauls are believed to have superhuman abilities and are destined for greatness.
