Hayut said that the men weren’t threatened and weren’t being conned. “No, they weren’t conned and threatened,’ Hayut said to Inside Edition. He also stated that he was not the son of a millionaire diamond mogul.

Hayut – who would pose in the role of ‘Simon Leviev,” the son and billionaire Russian-Israeli Diamond Mogul Lev Leviev — would gift Tinder women with extravagant trips and presents, using money that he took from other victims.

Then, he would ask for additional funds in the pretense of protecting his identity from security threats.

Hayut was finally arrested after being caught with fake documents. He was convicted of the crime in December 2019. Following five months in prison, he was released on May 5, 2019.

After escaping prison, he started sharing pictures on Instagram showing him living a luxurious life. He continued this trend until his entire Instagram account was deleted following criticisms from the documentary.

His message read: “I will be sharing my side of this story in the following few days once I have sorted it out and found the most respectful and effective way to do so, for both myself and the other parties. Keep your mind open and be kind.

But, it disappeared from the internet hours later.

He shared photographs of his luxurious lifestyle on the account, which was active since February 9.

Photographs show 31 year-old enjoying a party on a yacht while eating out at fancy restaurants and staying in 5-star hotels. She also enjoys taking helicopter rides, skydiving, and traveling around the globe.

Hayut has been posting photos to his reactivated Instagram account

Hayut posted photos to his Instagram account, which he reactivated.

According to People Magazine, Hayut claimed that he stole $10 million in over-the-years. He told People Magazine that he was Lev Leviev’s son.

The Times of Israel stated that Lev, his diamond company LLD Diamonds, is genuine and that Hayut was his father. Lev has also ‘filed an accusation against Hayut for falsely representing himself to be his son’.

Norwegian graduate student Cecilie was 29, when she first dated Hayut. She claimed that she had given Hayut over $270,000 during their relationship. They met via Tinder in January 2018.

The documentary reveals that Shimon had completely charmed her after flying them from Bulgaria via private jet to London for their first date.

He used the cash he took from other victims to lavishly spoil the women he met through the dating app by taking them on expensive vacations and buying them luxurious gifts.

Then he would ask for money, claiming that he was in imminent danger. He needed the funds to safeguard his identity against those who wanted to murder him because of his diamond-related business.

Hayut, who was awaiting fraud, theft, and forgery charges in Israel was eventually arrested. He spent five months behind bars before being released with ‘good behaviour’ in May 2020.

In order to avoid the fraud-related crimes he committed in his early 20s, he was ordered to flee Israel in 2011. According to a plea bargain, he was required to pay $43,289 to Cecilie Ayleen and Pernilla as well as a $5,771 fine.

Hayut was previously sentenced to two years imprisonment in Finland in 2015. He had been charged with defrauding three women.

The trio featured in the Netflix documentary set up a GoFundMe with the hope of raising £600,000 which is about $815,652 in U.S. dollars after receiving a flood of support from sharing their story in the Netflix documentary.

However, an Instagram Story from an account purporting to belong to Hayut attacked the women’s campaign.

‘Go ahead and help real associations… not these manipulators. According to The Independent, Hayut posted this message on his social media account before the profile was removed.

Pernilla, Cecilie and Ayleen allege Hayut cheated them by saying he had to borrow money to avoid being tracked down by his enemies.

It is unclear how many other people fell for the scam but it is estimated that he conned his victims out of £7.4 million.

Although he has not been accused of scamming Cecilie or Ayleen, he was arrested in Israel in connection to the use in 2019 of a false passport.

Cecilie, Ayleen and Pernilla raised more than £18,000 within 24 hours of launching their fundraising page and said that they are grateful for any help after being defrauded large sums. Currently, they have raised  £147,689 which is just over $200,00 in US dollars.

It was written by the three-member trio as a fundraiser: “You’re likely here because you heard our story. And we appreciate that you took time to search for this page.

“The last few days were a blur, and Ayleen Pernilla, Cecilie, and I have been totally overwhelmed by all the support and compassion from everyone. Thank you for your love and support. It is beyond what we could have ever imagined.

“After much thought and discussion, we decided to launch this GoFundMe fundraising campaign. Many people asked us if we have one. We hadn’t thought to do one before.

“But we’ve seen plenty of fakes that make us nervous. We don’t want any more victims of fraud.

We are grateful that you chose to support this cause, even though there are many other worthwhile causes. Our only desire is to have our lives back.
