One of the alleged disturbances was that a coach from Ireland caused havoc on an Delta Air Lines flight connecting Dublin with New York. The accused mooned first-class passengers while refusing to remove their masks. 

Shane McInerney (29), was indicted for intentionally intimidating and assaulting a Delta Flight 45 crew member on Tuesday, January 7.

McInerney, according to the complaint refused to wear face masks despite numerous requests by the flight crew. He became increasingly disruptive until the crew contemplated diverting the plane in order to get rid of him.

McInerney hails originally from Galway and is currently in the US for a teaching job at a soccer academy in Daytona.

McInerney is a native of Galway, and was flying to the US to take a job teaching soccer at an academy in Daytona, Florida, a law enforcement source told DailyMail.com

McInerney, who hails from Galway, was traveling to the USA to teach soccer in a Daytona academy, Florida. According to DailyMail.com, this is what a source within law enforcement said.

McInerney’s attorney, Benjamin Zev Yaster, declined to comment on the allegations when reached by DailyMail.com.

McInerney was alleged to have been in an economy seat and at one time during the flight, he stormed into first-class to complain to flight attendants about the food.

McInerney, as he was being led back to his seat by the fighter attendant, allegedly ‘pulled his pants down and revealed his buttocks’, according to the complaint.

McInerney, at another time, threw a ’empty beverage container’ that hit another passenger’s head, according to FBI.

According to court filings, it was unclear what the contents of the beer in the can were. 

McInerney has prominently displayed his love of alcohol and Guinness beer on McInerney’s social media pages.

McInerney, a Delta pilot, allegedly “pulled down his pants & underwear and exposed himself to his buttocks” the flight attendant and passengers. In the photo above, he can be seen October in Omaha. He posted a picture on social media where he said that he drove for an hour to get a fresh pint of Guinness.

Two hours into his trans-Atlantic flight the pilot stopped and went back to the cabin. He spoke with McInerney about the situation and settled him down.

McInerney allegedly took his cap off twice and put it on McInerney’s head. Then, he removed it once more. McInerney also raised his fist towards the face of the pilot and said, ‘Don’t touch me.

McInerney was also accused of hitting the seat in front of the passenger, to which the passenger objected.

McInerney, on final approach to JFK Internation is accused of refusing to sit with his seatbelt fastened and standing in front of the attendants.

An FBI agent stated in an affidavit that at least one passenger considered the defendant’s behavior to be frightening. 

“Moreover, due to the entire conduct of defendant during flight, flight attendants and crew on board the aircraft repeatedly stopped doing their normal duties in order to address him.” 

According to his social media profiles, McInerney played professional soccer in Australia with Dandenong Thunder SC, and in Sweden with FC Linköping City.

He scored 9 out of the nine field goals for Peru State College’s American soccer team.

Last month, he spoke to the Irish Daily Star about his desire to become an NFL kicker.

On January 16, McInerney posted an Instagram picture showing that he arrived in Daytona Beach safely by January 16. He was then spotted enjoying a cocktail on the shore. 

He wrote, “Great to be back at the sunshine state,” “Blessed to call the place home over the next few months.

McInerney first appeared at Brooklyn Federal Court, January 14, and was then released with a $20,000 bail.

A conviction could land him up to 20 year imprisonment in Federal Prison.
