GARNISHA blackberry and lemon slice
EQUIPMENTBar spoon with long handle
45ml Gin
Freshly squeezed Lemon Juice 30 ml
15ml Simple Syrup (see tip)
15ml crème de mûre
- Two-thirds of a glass should be filled with crushed ice. Add all the ingredients except the crème de mûre.
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Stir well. Cap with more crushed ice and gently drizzle over the crème de mûre so it seeps down through the ice.
- Add a few blackberries to the bowl and garnish with a lemon slice.
TIP You can buy simple syrup, but it’s also very easy to make at home. Simple syrup is made with a simple 1:1 sugar-water ratio. Stir 150g of caster sugar into a saucepan. Add 150ml water. Stir until sugar dissolves completely. Heat slowly to simmer. Take off heat. Let cool. Use a funnel or spoon to transfer the mixture to a glass container. For up to a month, you can keep the syrup in the fridge.
