A Canadian socialite is currently being tried for shooting dead a Belize police officer in an accident. DailyMail.com exclusively reveals that the Canadian woman, a Canadian socialite, has been remanded in custody.

Jasmine Hartin (33), is accused of planning to assassinate Andrew Ashcroft’s son, Lord Ashcroft of Britain, who oversees her child custody case.

Mother-of-2 has been growing frustrated with Belizean authorities. Elle claims that she is being blocked from seeing Charlie and Elle by the government while she awaits her trial in May 2021 for Henry Jemmott’s manslaughter.

After Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police said that he had received information that suggested that a woman in Belize City hired a street gang to execute the contract murders, she was taken into custody Thursday night.

Hartin was confirmed by an attorney, who dismissed her suspicions and said she believed she would be cleared.

Hartin was arrested Thursday night after Commissioner of Police Chester Williams (right)  said he received information suggesting an unnamed woman had hired a Belize City street gang to carry out the contract killings. The magistrate in charge of her custody case against Dale Cayetano also accuses Hartin of conspiring to assassinate him.

As she is preparing to face trial in late 2012 over the mysterious shooting death of Superintendent Jemmott with his service pistol, Hartin’s latest episode has been shocking.

Hartin believes the gun was accidentally fired because Jemmott (a father of five who Hartin tipped to be a future leader in his country’s police forces) showed Hartin how to reload the firearm while they socialized and drank on a remote pier.

Hartin was forced to end her relationship with Ashcroft in this case. He allegedly barred Hartin accessing their apartment as well as denying access for their five-year old children.

The latest shocking episode in the Hartin saga comes as she prepares to stand trial later this year over the death of Superintendent Henry Jemmott

As Hartin prepares for her trial in late this year’s case over the murder of Superintendent Henry Jemmott, the latest episode is shocking.

Judge Dale Cayetano (director of Belize Family Court) is currently deciding the custody dispute. Hartin is accused of conspiring to remove one of these men.

Williams was the second target. He stated that he would not take anything for granted.

“Those we suspect were hired to take the hit have also been taken into custody. They have been interviewed to make sure that everything is done in order to get the truth.

While cops have been tight-lipped about the plot, the allegations appear to stem in some part from a statement given by Lionel Neal, who claims he worked as Hartin’s security guard and allegedly overheard her saying she hoped ‘these a**holes would all die.’

Hartin made a police complaint Tuesday alleging that Neal came into Hartin’s bedroom and pulled down her sleep shorts, and then performed an act of sexual harassment. He threatened Hartin with a pair scissors before vowing to lie to him, she claimed.

‘He told me he was going to lie … and tell them that I meant to murder Henry Jemmott and tried to kill a few other people as well.’ In a DailyMail.com statement, she stated that her husband promised the same thing unless I gave him ($1,000).

Neil was charged with attempted and burglary. However, he stated that he had an affair with Hartin and invited Hartin to have sex with him.

Andrew Ashcroft claims his ex Jasmine Hartin is unfit to care for twins Charlie and Ellie

Andrew Ashcroft says his ex Jasmine Hartin cannot care for Charlie and Ellie.

Also, he claimed that she was prone to ‘acting boisterous’ when under the influence of cocaine. He sent messages of anger to Williams and Cayetano.

Neil wrote that Ms. Jasmine Hartin started texting Mr. Dale Cayetano, the magistrate of the Belize City Family Court. He was astonished that Hartin had accused him of taking bribes.

‘I have never heard Ms. Jasmin Hartin threaten any of these person directly, I would only hear her saying shouting (sic) inside the house that she wish these a**holes would all die.’

Hartin has to report every day to CayeCalker Police Station, an island off Belize’s East Coast where she is staying on bail.

On Thursday, she made the gesture and was placed in handcuffs. She was taken by boat from Belize City to remain in her custody until Friday.

Dickie Bradley, her attorney, blasted the police for believing the allegations of a man who attempted to rape.

It can’t possibly be true. This doesn’t make any sense. It is absurd. Who would ever want to live the life of a magistrate. What is the point of that? He spoke to Belize’s Love FM.

“I’m hoping the media won’t give too much credence this because it’s just pure nonsense that’s going around.”

Hartin left Kingston, Ontario to live on her farm. She moved to Jamaica a decade later. Hartin then settled in Belize with Ashcroft. Ashcroft is a billionaire who holds both British and Belizean citizenships and represented Belize at United Nations.

Andrew, 44, and she became long-term friends. They had two children and opened Alaia, the largest hotel on San Pedro’s east coast, in May 2021.

As the hotel’s ‘Director of Lifestyle & Experience’, Hartin rubbed shoulders with jet-setting expats and powerful Belizean officials before Jemmott’s shooting on a nearby pier brought her gilded lifestyle crashing down.

Hartin was a wealthy, jet-set ex-pat who owned luxury resorts on Ambergris Caye.

This was stopped abruptly by Jemmott’s 9mm shot from his Glock 17 military pistol in the early morning of May 28.

A criminal complaint states that he was’socializing and drinking’ with Hartin at a hotel pier just one block away from Alaia Belize, which Ashcroft owned.

At 12:45am, a security guard heard an ominous bang. Police arrived and found Hartin covered in blood and Jemmott dead at 30 feet.

Hartin stated after spending the weekend behind bars that the off-duty officer had shown her how to manage his firearm, while the two of them drank and talked.

Ashcroft and Hartin jointly ran the luxurious Alaia Belize Hotel on the resort island of Ambergris Caye off Belize's Caribbean coast

Hartin and Ashcroft co-managed the Alaia Belize Resort Hotel, located on Ambergris Caye in Belize’s Caribbean Coast.

Following her testimony that she believed it was an accident and not murder, the prosecutors chose to charge her with manslaughter in negligence.

You could be sentenced to a maximum of nine months in prison or fined approximately 10,000 Belizean dollar ($5,000 US).

Hartin’s relationship with Ashcroft – whose father is a former deputy chairman of Britain’s ruling Conservative Party – came to an unseemly end after he allegedly barred her from accessing their apartment and stopped her from seeing their kids after her release on bail.

Hartin recorded herself following Ashcroft around the Alaia restaurant in order to get answers. Hartin was later charged with assault after a manager accused Hartin of trying to push Ashcroft.

Ashcroft didn’t comment, however, he stated in an unrevealed statement to police that he was concerned she would try to seize children “by force”.

Jasmine was not told by me that she could not see her children. Jasmine has been informed that they must all agree on the dates, the time, and the location where the children can be seen.
