One deputy fell to the ground during the fistfight, which lasted a few minutes – forcing the session to be adjourned until tomorrow.

At the beginning of the session, a dispute broke out between Abdul Karim Dughmi and Suleiman Abu Yahya, deputy speaker.

Abu Yahya claimed that Mr Dughmi was unable to manage the show and said he didn’t know anything.

After a while, Dughmi retorted angrily and said “Shut up and get out of the hall.” He then walked off.

The brawl ended with no injuries. It began when a parliament member refused to apologize for remarks made during a discussion about constitutional reforms in the country.
