Joss Woldon is a filmmaker who believes Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot might have misunderstood his character during an argument while filming 2017’s Justice League. Gadot, along with other actors, has been accused of bullying and threats.

‘English is not her first language, and I tend to be annoyingly flowery in my speech,’ Whedon, 57, said in an interview with Vulture published Monday. 

Director, Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator, and Toy Story co-wrote, Gadot said she misheard Gadot joke that she needed to attach Gadot to a railroad track to remove a scene and then hang him over her dead body.

“Then, I was informed that I had spoken about her dead body as well as tying it to the railroad track,” he stated.

Gadot 36 responded to Whedon’s theory saying, ‘I understood completely.

In 2012, Whedon told actress from Israel that Whedon had threatening her career.

After Ray Fisher, a Justice League actor, and Charisma Carpenter, an actress from Buffy the Vampire Slayer came forward to make their claims about Whedon’s misconduct, this was followed by Trachtenberg and Trachtenberg. Carpenter alleges Whedon bullied her on set and called her fat while she was pregnant, while  Trachtenberg alleged that the director was not allowed to be alone with her on set.

Fisher also suggested that Whedon had instructed editors to tone down the skin color of actors of color post-production and called Fisher ‘abusive.

Whedon has denied Carpenter, Trachtenberg and Fisher’s claims. He also slammed the latter’s acting, much of which he cut from the film, telling Vulture that the actor is a ‘malevolent force. This is a terrible actor in both the literal and figurative senses.

Gadot said that Whedon had first threatened her in May. Translated by the Twitter account Discussing Film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Whedon threatened Gal Gadot’s job and claimed he could make her look stupid on Justice League’s set. N12.

According to a source, Gadot was concerned about the new film’s revision, which included concerns that her character would be more aggressive than Wonder Woman’s.

Vulture was told by an unnamed actress from Angel (another Whedon show), that Gadot’s story reminded her. When her agent tried to force her to raise her salary, Whedon called the actress at her house and stated that she would never work again for him (or 20th Century Fox).

When Gadot gave her the quote, she said that she thought, “Wow! He’s still using this line!”

The studio launched an investigation after Whedon’s behaviour was discovered. WarnerMedia stated that it had investigated Fisher’s complaint and taken’remedial actions’

Gadot first hinted that something was amiss on the set of Justice League in a December 2020 interview with the  LA Times, in which she said her experience working with Whedon ‘wasn’t the best one.’

She replied, “But it was my responsibility to take care of it when it happened.” “I brought it up to higher-ups, and they took care.” 

In 2016, the film fell apart after Zack Snyder, director of Zack Snyder, resigned following the death of Autumn Snyder (20 years old). 

Whedon was the writer of the film and took control of 40 days worth of reshoots. Vulture claims that Snyder’s godlike vision of super heroes clashed with Whedon’s irony laden approach.

Justice League failed commercially and critically. It didn’t even break even at the box-office and scored a 40% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Whedon said to the outlet, that Warner Bros. had lost faith and desired him to be in control. Whedon denied the claim of a representative. Snyder released his cut on HBO Max.

Fisher plays Cyborg in this film. In June 2020 Fisher posted a video in which he raised concern over Whedon. Twitter of himself previously singing the director’s praises, writing: ‘I’d like to take a moment to forcefully retract every bit of this statement.’  

Fisher continued the conversation on July 1st. tweeting‘Joss Woldon’s unprofessional treatment of Justice League cast members and crew was unacceptable. Geoff Johns was a great help to him. Jon Berg also helped.

Baltimore-born actor, then disclosed that studio launched independent investigation following ‘five week’s of interviews with cast members and crew. 

Fisher had an extensive interview in The Hollywood Reporter about the ordeal. Fisher criticized the handling of the accusations by The Hollywood Reporter and said that certain executives were not suitable for their jobs. 

The studio’s parent company, WarnerMedia, said that its investigation into Fisher’s complaints had concluded and ‘remedial action’ had been taken. 

Fisher demanded the public release of the findings and the explanations it did not provide.  

Fisher spoke out about the alleged cover-up of studio executives in relation to the investigation and said that: “I don’t believe some people are suitable for leadership positions.

“I want them fired from Hollywood but not in charge of firing and hiring other people.” 

He stated that he felt he was able to prove a point in the past year.  

“If I don’t have accountability, at least I can inform people about who I’m dealing with.” 

Whedon stated in the Vulture Interview that Fisher scenes were cut from his film as he felt they weren’t logical and the acting was poor.

Fisher said that he had discussed the possibility of cutting scenes. He explained Fisher’s motivations to criticize Fisher as “We are talking about a malevolent power.” Both senses are wrong. 

Charisma Carpenter also criticized Whedon’s behavior in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She starred as Cordelia Chase.

Joss Whedon was adamant about his power while working with Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer on many occasions, she said. Twitter

“The distressing incidents led to a long-term physical condition, from which I still have symptoms. “It is with heavy hearts that I admit I managed in isolation and at times destructively.

Carpenter stated that Whedon thought Carpenter’s misconduct was ‘amusing’, according to The Hollywood Reporter. 

He called her “fat” in front of all the crew and cast when she was pregnant. She asked if she would keep that title. 

She wrote that he was mean, biting and disparaging others. He also played favorites.  

Sarah Michelle Gellar was the show’s main star. She later released a statement of support.

‘While Buffy Summers has been a great place for me, Joss won’t be happy to continue to be associated with my name. I have other priorities right now, such as raising my family and helping to survive a pandemic. I won’t make any more statements. But I am with survivors of abuse, and proud that they have spoken out.

Michelle Trachtenberg, an actress later claimed Whedon wasn’t allowed to be alone in the room during filming. This was days after his co-stars had spoken out about him bullying them and abusing power. 

Trachtenberg is now 36 and was just 14 years old when Gellar cast her as Dawn Summers, Gellar’s younger sister.
