Just Stop Oil demonstrators have painted the Harrods front in orange paint. They are holding a sit down protest outside, but drivers are dragging them off the roads.

In a protest of new oil-and-gas licences and consents over a month, two eco-zealots attacked the Knightsbridge flagship store around 9 am.

Twenty more supporters joined the group and glued themselves onto the street, while others used locks to hold them together.

An angry public tried to drag protesters off the roadway while traffic was brought to a halt.

One man, dressed in a black suit, who is seen hauling and throwing banners away from the road, shouts: ‘People have places to be instead of ‘f*****g wasting time.’

The arrest came as more than 500 police officers were made during the past 20 days of violent protests. Just Stop Oil is continuing its “civil resistance” throughout October.

Orange paint was sprayed over an Aston Martin showroom on Park Lane by protesters, and then more than twelve blocked the four-lane roadway nearby with a similar act.

The Metropolitan Police also arrested 24 protesters on suspicion of conspiracy to commit criminal damage after activists sprayed orange paint at New Scotland Yard’s revolving sign earlier this month.

Today, a spokesperson from the group stated that: “Just Stop Oil supporters stopped traffic at Knightsbridge in London. They also spray paint outside Harrods asking for an end to all oil and gas consents.

At 9:15 am today, just stop oil supporters marched on Knightsbridge in central London.

“Some supporters stuck to the asphalt while others kept their hands together. 

“Two supporters also spray the exterior of Harrods departmental store with orange paint.”

Just Stop Oil stated that the campaign is part a larger effort to convince the Government not to approve any new oil or gas projects. 

Two demonstrators were arrested by police for scaling Dartford Bridge and suspending themselves for over a day, causing havoc for motorists in the vicinity. 

 Marcus Decker, 33, of no fixed address, and Morgan Trowland, 39, of Drummond Way, Islington, have been charged with conspiracy to commit a public nuisance after suspending themselves from the bridge and stopping traffic for two days.

Two eco-zealots who were 275ft above the road’s busiest intersection on Monday morning had been brought down by an’super cherrypicker’ afternoon.

They were placed in custody, and are due to appear today at Southend Magistrates’ Court.
