Kate Garraway receives MBE in broadcasting while Mel B gets honours for her work for the domestic violence charity.










Kate Garraway has been given an MBE while Mel B was given an honour for her work with domestic violence charity in the 2022 New Year’s Honours list.

Kate (54), a television presenter was honored for her contributions to broadcasting. Derek Draper and his battle against Covid-19.

Melanie Brown, 46 of the Spice girls, also known as Mel B has been awarded an MBE by Women’s Aid for her support of domestic violence charity Women’s Aid.

The stars were among hundreds recognised in the New Year Honours today, including EastEnders star June Brown and TV presenter Katie Piper. 

John Boorman (88), a film director whose films include Point Blank from 1967, was knighted. Alistair Spalding (64) is the boss of Sadler’s Wells Theatre and has been awarded a knighthood for his dance work. 

Ashley Banjo (33) of Britain’s Got Talent-winning Dance Troup Diversity received an MBE for her contributions to dance. 

June Brown (1994, EastEnders) was the former star of Dot Cotton. Nitin Ganatra (54), played Masood Ahmed. Both were awarded OBEs.

Katie Piper is a TV presenter who was severely burned in an acid attack. In 2008, she survived and founded The Katie Piper Foundation. Piper received an OBE as a result of her charitable work and for helping victims with disfigurement injuries.

Adam Hills (51), an Australian comedian, was awarded the MBE in recognition of his services to Paralympic sport, disability awareness, and other related activities.

Pauline Black, the 68-year-old lead singer of The Selecter’s two-tone rock band, was awarded the OBE for her services to entertainment.
