During the first episode of And Just Like That..., the ladies addressed Samantha's absence by explaining that the character had moved in London

Samantha was absent on the premiere episode of And Just Like That …,. The ladies explained to Samantha that Samantha had moved to London.

“You are not my family. You’re not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your “nice girl” persona.’

The ladies discussed Samantha’s absence in the episode of And Just Like That …, by explaining that Samantha moved to London weeks earlier than DailyMail.com had reported.

We couldn’t allow Samantha to wander around New York City, and have Miranda and Charlotte not interact with her. We were told by show sources that this would have been absurd in November 2021.

“Sending her to Los Angeles was not an option, as that had been done in the previous movie. So having her character in London truly was the best way to preserve her life and to explain her absence.

“Viewers will see that she’s thriving in England despite her split with Carrie.”

An insider revealed that Carrie would make a big gesture for Samantha at the end.

“Carrie has to deal with Samantha’s absence and you will see Carrie reach out and try to rekindle friendship by the end of “And Just Like That”,” they stated.

Last year, HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys spoke out about Kim not being in the show.

He told TVLine: ‘Just as in real life, people come into your life, people leave. Friendships end, new friendships begin.

“So, I believe it’s all very representative of the real life stages. They’re trying to tell an honest story about being a woman in her 50s in New York.

‘So it should all feel somewhat organic, and the friends that you have when you’re 30, you may not have when you’re 50.’
