Ridley Scott’s movie dialect coach has criticised Lady Gaga’s Italian accent in House Of Gucci.
Francesca De Martini (an Italian actress and dialect coach) spoke to The Daily Beast to discuss the transformation of Bad Romance singer Patrizia into Patrizia reggiani. The hitman she used to murder her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci in 1995 was well-known.
Francesca was clearly not convinced and auditioned for the roles in the film before returning as a voice coach.

Francesca mentioned Salma Hayek’s work, saying that Salma had shot for one day before asking for a dialog coach. I think she heard the accent wasn’t right and she was worried — she wanted to do well.’
Gaga has spoken at length about her transformation into Patrizia and using the accent for an entire nine months to remain in character.
She stated that she had previously used the same voice for six months prior to filming began and that I continued it throughout the duration of the filming. This was a very frustrating experience for Adam. [Driver]My perception was that it was more difficult to enter and exit, therefore I chose to stay true to my character.
British Vogue was then informed by the star: “I live as her.” [Reggiani]I was there for almost a whole year. For nine months, I spoke with an accent. It was not broken. I was with her all the time.

Gaga said that she did her hair on-screen, in an effort to remain in character. My hair was dyed immediately.
The story is based upon Sara Gay Fordens novel The House of Gucci – A Sensational Tale of Murder Madness Glamour, Glamour, And Greed.
It is set in Italy. The story covers three decades of many themes such as love, revenge and betrayal.
The aftermath of the 1995 murder by Maurizio Gucci by his ex-wife Patrizia, the Italian businessman and head fashion house Gucci is prominently shown in the movie.

Patrizia, well-known as her luxurious lifestyle, once said that she’d rather ride in a Rolls than cry on a bicycle. She turned down day release in prison to avoid doing’menial’ jobs.
House of Gucci releases on November 26.
