Magnum, P.I. His daughter, Magnum, announced that Roger E. Mosley, actor and director of the film Magnum, has passed away at the age 83.

His daughter Ch-a said that the actor, who was born in Los Angeles, died three days ago at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after suffering injuries from an automobile accident in Lynwood. 

On Facebook, she announced her sad news, saying, “Roger E. Mosley,” adding, “Roger E. Mosley was my father. He was your friend. Your “coach Mosley” and “TC” from Magnum P.I.. He died at 1:07 AM.

He was loved by his family, she said, adding that he had passed peacefully and they could not mourn him. He was averse to any form of mourning in his name.

“It’s time to honor the legacy that he has left us. I love you daddy. You also loved me. Although my heart hurts, I’m strong. Mama, my love of nearly 60 years. I’ll take care. Your love and support of me has been a blessing. Take your time.

Mosley played Theodore TC Calvin, a character he played on the series. The show aired 158 episodes. Calvin’s character was the founder of Island Hoppers, a helicopter-based business. His previous work on Terminal Island was with Selleck. He recommended him to the role.

Mosley said his agent told him, ‘It’s starring this guy Tom Selleck. Tom Selleck has made about five pilot shows … and none of them have sold. So here’s what you do, Roger: Sign up for the show, go over to Hawaii, they’ll treat you good for the 20 days it will take to shoot the [pilot], you’ll get a lot of money, and then you come home. A show with Tom Selleck always fails, and you’ll be fine.’

According to him, his character originally was written to have to manage a struggling company. But he refused to do that because he doesn’t want to be the only Black person to live in Hawaii.

According to him, the writers had’reversed’ their decision. “They decided Tom would go broke and me would be wealthy – but I was constantly bailing out Tom.”

Mosley also appeared in two episodes as John Booky, a character played by Mosley.

Magnum, P.I. was not his only work. He also appeared in TV shows such as Las Vegas, Rude awakening, Walker, Texas Ranger, Walker, Texas Ranger, Texas Ranger, Texas Ranger, Night Court, You Take the Kids, The Love Boat, Starsky and Hutch, Baretta, Sanford and Son, Kung Fu, and Kojak.

He appeared in films such as The Mack and Leadbelly and Terminal Island.
