After Judge Patrick Thompson gave him bail, he was freed from HMP Manchester (also known as Strangeways) earlier in the month. The Chester Crown Court private hearing saw no press and the judge granted him bail.

The alleged sex attack occurred while he was being held on bail by the police in August. He then entered detention in September and was kept there for 134 consecutive days.
