A steel girder that fell from the crane of a London construction site strikes a man, killing him.

  • Today, at 1.25pm Metropolitan police officers arrived on a Hoxton building site. 
  • Along with London Fire Brigade crews, an Air Ambulance arrived on the scene. 
  • Paramedics failed to save the man, and he died on the spot. 










According to reports, the steelgirder fell from a crane in London and struck a man who was then killed. 

Today, at 1.25 p.m. Metropolitan police officers went to Hoxton’s East Road building site.   

The London Fire Brigade was assisted by an air ambulance, however the man died on the spot despite all efforts to revive him.

After being struck from the crane by a steel beam, a man died. After the incident, the emergency services were on-site.

His next-of-kin are being notified by police.

 A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: ‘We were called at 1.19pm today to reports of an incident on East Road, N1. 

We sent an ambulance crew and a medical team leader in a car. An incident response officer was also on the team. 

“We dispatched also by road London’s Air Ambulance. 

“Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services colleagues, a person was killed on the spot.”

Today, Metropolitan Police officers were summoned to Hoxton’s East Road building site at 1.25pm.
