Manchester United’s vice-chairman has supported a start-up for meal delivery founded by Myleene Klass, a singer and Jamie Barber, a serial restaurant entrepreneur.
Ed Woodward was the executive responsible for signing Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract this season and has participated in a seed round of funding for My Supper Hero.
Supper heroes: Myleene Klass and Jamie Barber launched the business late last year
Klass and Barber – who became friends through their children – launched the business late last year, delivering meals including duck cassoulet and roasted stuffed sea bream to customers.
They have raised £500,000 from investors including Woodward and Saracens rugby club chairman Neil Golding. They have been supported by ex-executives of Deliveroo delivery and Elle magazines and Grazia for women.
This money will be used for testing the service across the country. Barber indicated that a second funding round may be possible later in the year.
According to him, Sunday’s Mail interview revealed that during lockdown, they quickly became sick of eating junk foodie fast foods and discovered a need for high-quality home delivery meals.

Our goal was to create meals chefs could prepare at home. Together with Sir Roger Moore (the late actor), he founded Hush in Mayfair and then launched Cabana and Hache, both Brazilian-inspired burger chains.
