  • Harsit Tejura, a consultant gynaecologist used false names to obtain free Viagra
  • Cardiff’s court was informed that the man had used the drugs while having an affair with another woman.
  • But he was caught after store manager became suspicious of his pharmacy visits
  • Tejura attributed his erectile dysfunction to stress at work and in his family.
  • He admitted fraud by false representation and theft and was fined £1,000 and given a Community Order
  • Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service has now suspended him for six months

For writing false prescriptions in order to receive Viagra free, a married doctor was suspended from practice for six months.

Consultant gynaecologist Dr Harsit Tejura lied about acquiring 30 packs of the pills to save £360 while having an extra marital affair.

After a pharmacist manager noticed the doctor’s frequent visits, he alerted police.

Tejura, of Old St Mellons, Cardiff, admitted fraud by false representation and theft at Cardiff Crown Court last year and was fined £1,000 but avoided jail.

But, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service now finds that his inability to practice is a problem.

He was fired from the job for six months.

Rosamund Rutter, the prosecutor said that the Tesco manager found it unusual for doctors to request prescriptions from patients.

The married father-of-three hundreds of pounds by prescribing 30 packs of the pills for his own use under fake names.

Prosecutors said that Tejura claimed he was 'suffering from high levels of stress due to his home and personal life and suffered erectile dysfunction as a result'. He admitted engaging in extra-marital sex. Pictured: The couple's home

According to the court, he could have legal purchased Viagra from High Street chemists. However, he did not buy the Viagra in the exact same amount.

Cardiff Crown Court heard that Tejura was ruining his career after he “damaged the high level of trust placed on doctors”.

Ms Rutter explained that Mr. Rutter claimed that he had been suffering from stress in his family and private life. He also suffered from erectile dysfunction.

“He confessed to engaging in extramarital sex at that time.”
