McDonald’s announced today that it will introduce a Chicken Big Mac Burger in Britain. This is nearly 50 years since the original beef version was introduced.

Six years ago, the burger in Australia was launched. The two-fried chicken patties replace the usual beef and are served in three slices of bread with the Big Mac sauce.

It will be served in 1,300 locations across the UK starting February 2. However, it will not initially be available until March 15th.

The Chicken Big Mac will cost £4.09 for the sandwich – which is 50p more than a normal Big Mac – £5.59 for a medium meal with chips and a drink or £5.99 for a large.

McDonald's revealed today it will launch a Chicken Big Mac burger for the first time in Britain

McDonald’s announced today that it would launch the Chicken Big Mac Burger in Britain for the first-ever time

Chicken burgers will be more calorie-dense than beef burgers (544 calories vs 508). The Double Big Mac will return next month to the menus.

The Sun reported that McDonald’s has confirmed that their Chicken Legend menu item, which had been temporarily removed last year, would be back on the shelves starting next month.

The McPlant Burger, which is made without meat and contains vegan cheese, was launched last month. In the UK, in 1974, came out the original beef Big Mac.

McDonald’s shocked customers yesterday when it announced that their breakfast wraps and bagels would be removed permanently from its menu.

The items were praised by fans who tweeted their disgust with the product, using emojis that said it was the only breakfast item they ate at home and the worst choice they’d ever made.

Both options were removed from the reduced menu as the chain slowly reopened stores in May 2020, after having closed their doors when the pandemic started.

Customers had hoped that bagels and wraps might be back on the menu, but McDonald’s announced today that they are no longer available.

To soften the blow, the chain said that McMuffins would be sold at 99p per unit via an app.

The chain told MailOnline the bagels and wraps were first added to its offering in 2011 and had therefore spent nine years on the menu before being removed in 2020.
