Metropolitan Police officer (28), denies that he raped a woman at prestigious London hotel.

Today’s accusation against a police officer for raping a woman at an elite hotel was dismissed.

28-year-old PC Adam Zaman is charged with sex attacks in Liverpool Street, City of London’s 5-star Andaz Hotel on Sunday 24 October.

Met Police Officer, East Area Command Unit, arrested on the same day. He was charged with rape.

PC Zaman, who appeared at the Old Bailey today via videolink from HMP Wormwood Scrubs denied the charge of rape, and only spoke to confirm his identity, date, and denial.

PC Zaman was remanded in custody by Judge Philip Katz, QC until the December 22nd hearing. The trial date has not yet been set.

The matter was referred to Independent Office for Police Conduct.

Following PC Zaman’s arrest, Detective Chief Superintendent Paul Trevers said: ‘I recognise that the public will be concerned to hear that a serving police officer has been charged with such a serious offence. This concern is ours.
