He claimed he saw’marks around the neck of her’. When she inquired if it might have been why they had been summoned to her flat, she replied: “It’s likely my tan.” He didn’t touch me. It has been clear that there was no disagreement.
Meanwhile, the officers visited the neighbors and many said that they were’scared’ by Kane having heard about arguin in the flat.
The police returned to Kane’s flat and arrested him for common assault and domestic violence. However, Lucci stood by her partner.
She replied, “You’re not arresting him.” She said, “I’m not speaking here tonight without bail.” He hasn’t done any of these things. He’s not going anywhere.
Kane shouted at police officers, “You can’t prove it!” I ain’t done f*** all. She has nothing to do with me, and I have marks against her. This is f****** ridiculous.’
DI Lucy Thompson from the Major Crime Unit told the camera that they had good evidence Lucci was the victim of Kane’s abuse.
DI Lucy Thompson, of the Major Crime Unit, told the camera: ‘Lucci, we have good strong evidence to show she is a victim of abuse from Kane.
“But she’s not taking advantage of any opportunity to admit that she was a victim. This would be unusual of us to tell you that you have been abused and are a victim.
“We can suggest it, but someone who is denial will not see or accept it.”
Kane was called in to police for an interview. Police wanted to question him about his relationship with Lucci. Kane insisted that it was very verbal. Kane doesn’t enjoy having an argument or a row and then sitting down.
“I have 10 minutes to think and get out of the way to diffuse this situation. It doesn’t escalate into her lunging at me or me trying to push back.
Kane was called in to a police interview. The officers wanted to know about his relationship with Lucci. Kane insisted that it was’very verbal.
“I defuse it right away, so I’m not involved in the process.”
But the officer said, “It’s slightly worse than how you are portrayed.” Others are expressing violence.
“This environment is not suitable for growing up, particularly if you flip.”
Another stated that the relationship was volatile and violent. Teddie suffered a severe head injury due to an event that either Lucie and you have caused to flip.

One of the texts read: ‘Answer me , you don’t understand you s*****. My mother’s ashes have been buried in my heart. I swear that you will not tell Ross his second name until I am home.
“Unless you promise me otherwise, I will have to go into your bedroom to get you dressed and make you comfortable. You must listen, it’s going to be necessary.
Kane, however, insisted that it was “just a menace” and said, “I’ve never touched her.”
The officer stated that she would like to talk about Teddie’s biological father during their interview.
One of the most heartbreaking moments in the documentary was when Lucci’s children reminisced about how he abuses them.
She stated that she had done DNA profiling and it was clear that Teddie is not her father.
After the revelation, you could see him putting his hands on his face and crying. Then he said: “I feel sick.”
Police later stated that they were unable to interview him properly because he seemed to be on the edge of “exploding.”
However, DI Thompson stated that she wanted to allow Lucci the opportunity to admit she had been a victim to domestic violence.

She also defended Kane’s text messages, saying that “Every couple disputes.”
After stating that there were ‘a few slaps from her boyfriend throughout the years, she said: “I don’t see why this matters.” He may not do the same thing to Teddie, but he might do it.
During one interview, Lucci promised she would have told police if there had been any violence toward Teddie because, ‘he’s my son at the end of the day and he means more to me than anybody’
The officer then went on: ‘I’m going to ask you a question and look you straight in the eye. Kane assaulted your on several occasions.
Lucci finally admitted to his violence and said: “With me, maybe. But he wouldn’t do that with a child.”
“It does not mean that he would do any thing to my children. I know that he would not do it because he truly loved the baby.
“I don’t understand why it matters.”
When Kane was not Teddie’s biological dad, Teddie burst into tears.
Police conducted an interview with Kane, the oldest of Lucci’s children.
Although the child could not be identified, they voice was heard saying “Ugly Kane.” Because he hit me with his fists, he punched me in my arm.
“He grabbed my leg, dragged my head to the ground and basically held onto my leg. He held my foot, clenching the muscles really hard.
“And Kane punched Mummy’s Mirror and was bleeding from the hand. Mummy ran in our room to stop him and closed the door.
“He tried to punch us all. [It made me feel sad]Because the glass had fallen to the ground and Mummy accidentally stepped on it.
DI Thompson said that Kane tried to commit suicide by crossing into traffic while on the motorway. He added: “God knows how, but he survived.” The injuries he sustained include a broken pelvis, broken elbow, fractured spine, and head trauma.

As he was being taken from the hospital, you could hear him saying “this is absurd”.

DI Thompson stated that he first saw him as a grieving father. His personality has evolved and shown the ability to adapt his character depending on what circumstances he’s in.
Teddie has never felt any empathy, or regret from Kane. It’s really difficult to believe that Kane is the only one who cares about Teddie’s past.
During the first-part of the documentary series, which aired yesterday, the heartless killer started spouting crocodile tears as he was arrested.
Meanwhile footage also showed Smith being asked by detectives how her son suffered such horrific injuries and she simply replies ‘no idea’.

She then went on to say she would tell police if there had been any violence toward Teddie because, ‘he’s my son at the end of the day and he means more to me than anybody’.
The shocking truth was that Cambridgeshire Police as well as social services were alerted weeks ago to the concerns of worried neighbors.
Footage from just before Mitchell’s arrest showed him holding his victim in hospital while he sobbed and said: ‘Come on baby, Daddy’s here.’
On November 1, 2019, at 3:00pm, the ambulance crew was dispatched to Pattison Court in St Neots. Teddie was unresponsive and was suffering from cardiac arrest.
Smith left Teddie with Mitchell while Mitchell did her morning school run.
Detective Inspector Lucy Thompson stated that Mitchell was completely without remorse and empathy. That’s what I find most difficult about him.
“It’s all Kane and nothing about Teddie.”

He said: ‘I don’t f***** think so. O my God! I’d never harm a baby. My son is my only priority.

Teddie died as a result of his fractured skull and lack of oxygen to the brain.
The medical staff was concerned by Teddie’s serious injuries. Mitchell and Smith were arrested.
The jury at Cambridge Crown Court heard Teddie’s story of abuse and neglect during Teddie’s short time with Kane Mitchell. Mitchell is not Teddie’s biological father.
24 Hours In Police Custody: Cold to The Touch is a documentary by Channel 4. It examines the actions of the council in responding to fears expressed by worried neighbors about the safety and well-being of children who lived in the Mitchell/Smith home.
The Express was informed by a spokesperson for the council that a serious case review has begun and that results should be available later in the year. We can’t comment on it until it is published.

The investigation that lasted over a year found Teddie had sustained multiple terrible injuries throughout his brief life. Mitchell and Smith couldn’t explain this.
“Viewers will be able to see the complexity and intricacies involved with such a tragic and emotive case.
“The show shows that no matter how difficult it is, we are determined to get those who have committed such terrible crimes to justice.
“We hope this will motivate anyone with concerns regarding a child’s well-being to get in touch immediately.
The jury was given statements by neighbours that they heard argument coming from the house on a daily basis, and the family had not been settled since Mitchell arrived.
Mitchell stated that he believes Teddie was his biological father during a police interview.
But DNA tests following his death showed that he wasn’t.
Further footage from the TV program showed that officers constantly monitored Teddie’s condition while Teddie was being treated.
Mitchell was sentenced in February to at least 18 years in prison by the Cambridge Crown Court.
Smith was found guilty for neglect when she failed to dial 999 within half an hour of her GP’s request.
His death is reminiscent of the injuries which killed 16-month-old Star Hobson who was murdered by Savannah Brockhill, 28, the girlfriend of her mother Frankie Smith.
Mrs Justice Lambert stated that Star suffered from a ‘fatal punch/kick’ and lost half her blood. She also had internal injuries.
Brockhill was sentenced for the murder of Star, and Smith for 8 years for not doing anything to stop Smith.
Mrs Justice Lambert said: Frankie Smith, Star was in your responsibility to save her from harm. You failed to do so, and she died.
“The force necessary to cause these injuries must be immense – comparable to forces involved in a road accident.”
Star smiled happily in police photos before she was tormented by her mother and murdering boyfriend.
Partner in Death: Savannah Brockhill (28) and Frankie Smith (22) were both convicted of Star Hobson’s murder.
