nita Birges revealed she had been washing her large dinner plates by hand for over a year before working out the simple solution to her dishwasher's space issue

nita Birges said that she was washing large plates of food by hand for more than a year until finding a simple solution to the dishwasher space problem.

After that, she unclips both sides of the top drawer and slides it out. The bottom rollers will run along the rail.

This allowed the plate to be fit on the lower shelf, without damaging the machine.

Anita shared that for the past year she’d been struggling to wash large objects and handwash them all.

“Clever old Me” thought that it was because plates used to be much smaller and the dishwasher wasn’t as modern, she said alongside the video.

The first to inform her that the problem with dishwashing was due to human error was a shop assistant.

“Last weekend, I measured the area and searched the entire Westfield Shopping Centre for a plate measuring 25 cm in diameter. Not the 27cm,” she stated.

She was trying to buy smaller plates before she was alerted to the simple hack

Before she discovered the hack, she had been trying to purchase smaller plates.

She simply lifts the rack and locks it in at a higher setting

The hack works for most dishwashers - though some have a handle or lever

The rack is simply lifted by the woman and locked in at a greater setting.

‘Alas, after scouring many shops with my measuring tape in hand, I was informed by the nicest shop assistant ‘you do know that your top dishwasher rack is adjustable’?’

She was shocked and went back home to verify the theory of her assistant.

It was a simple tip that she shared immediately with all her admirers.

How can I increase the space in my dishwasher

1 – Unclip both right and left rails

2 – Elevate the rack until it reaches the top and secure the clips.

3. Other dishwashers might have an adjustment lever or handle, but most of them do have it.

4 – Many major dishwasher manufacturers (Whirlpool Bosch Samsung, Samsung, and Thermidor) offer videos that show you how it’s done.

5 – The best part is that you don’t need any tools and it takes only a few minutes

6 – It is a fantastic solution to washing larger dishes in the dishwasher and will prevent them from becoming damaged by being pushed into too small racks.
