A mother-of-three revealed how she spent £8,200 on a new body after years of being the ‘fat and funny friend.’
Kim Irving, 36, from Selby, North Yorkshire, used to tip the scales at 17st, but lost 7st after a gastric sleeve surgery in Turkey in 2019, costing her £2.700.
Unhappy with her loose skin after the weight loss, the make-up artist decided to have a ‘mummy makeover’ for £5,500 in September 2021, also plumping for surgery in Turkey because it was cheaper than the UK.
Kim went from size 10 to size 8 after the makeover. It included a tummy-tuck, breast-lift with fat injections, and a pubic lift.
Kim is pleased with her results. The NHS recommends that you do your own research before considering cheap surgery in another country. You want to ensure safety and avoid potential complications.

Maddison’s mother, Maddison (age 18), said Lily, 15, and Aiden (15, respectively) that she was unable to wear the clothes she desired despite her remarkable weight loss. This is due to her flaggy skin.
According to her, she gained weight after working as a teenager in a Chinese restaurant. She would receive a meal for free four times per week.
Kim, a professional make-up artist said, “I tried many diets and lost 2st. However, I hit a wall and couldn’t lose anymore.
“So, I looked into weight loss surgery and have not looked back.
Kim felt that her skin was still a problem after she lost seven stone. Kim decided to undergo a “mummy makeover,” which involves a tummy-tuck.
‘I’ve shed over 7st and I feel better than I have ever felt.
‘However after losing weight, I still wasn’t happy with how my body looked. I still couldn’t wear all of the things I wanted to because of my loose skin.
So I returned to Turkey to receive the “mummy makeover”. It’s so great to be happy with the new body.
“It was never easy being big. I was just my funny, fat friend.
The mother-of-3 said that she wasn’t’miserable’ before losing weight but was tired of buying in the plus-size section.
Kim feels like a brand new woman after the 2021 mummy surgery. She can now wear what she loves.
“I was always forced to shop at the larger section of shops, and it just became too much for me.
“I wanted the opportunity to own beautiful dresses like those I saw on Oh Polly and Pretty Little Things.
“And because my clients are so beautiful, I felt very pressure to make sure that I looked good.
Kim decided after extensive online research to have a gastric sleeve. Kim was to fly from the United States to receive this procedure.

She says that the procedure cost her £2,700 compared to the cheapest UK price she found, which was £8,000.
Kim said, “The difference in prices between them is ridiculous. It was obvious.”
‘I paid £600 for my flights, and then in August 2019, I boarded the plane with my husband and off I went.
‘I couldn’t wait to get it done because I had seen so many amazing before and after pictures.
Kim traveled to Turkey to be with her husband. She was eager to witness her first gastric bypass surgery.
Kim feels confident after her plastic surgery and can now show off her skin and wear what bikinis or dresses she likes.
“It was the first time I’d ever had an operation but I was certain it would be worthwhile.
“I have lost 13lbs since returning from Turkey. I did it in just nine days. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I stepped on the scale, I nearly passed out.
‘Two years after my weight loss surgery, I’d lost 5st 12lbs, not including the weight I had previously lost from dieting, and I felt amazing.
‘However it was a mental battle to go from a size 20 to a size 10, and although I had lost so much weight I still didn’t feel like I could wear the clothes and swimwear I’d been dreaming of because I had a lot of loose skin.
‘I knew I should have been happy because I’d lost lots of fat, but it still wasn’t quite right.
“So, I began looking into plastic surgery. So I booked myself a trip to Turkey for a mummy redeco and then went back under the knife in September 2021.

Kim shared with Tony her husband Tony’s travels to Turkey, for the gastric bypass surgery and the mummy makeover.
Kim began to notice the effects of plastic surgery six weeks after the surgery.
She couldn’t wait to see her new stomach after hating the stretchy skin in that area so much.
Kim said: ‘When I first saw myself I couldn’t believe that it was my body I was looking at. My stomach felt so full and my belly button was just right.
‘I formed a shopping addiction because I couldn’t wait to try on clothes and bikinis, without having to worry about my loose skin or wearing hold-in underwear.
I used to receive clothes delivery every single day. Now, I feel great about my body and have so much more confidence. I’ll never have to go under the knife again.
“It is amazing to be content with my body and feel confident in dressing the way that I always wanted.
