A bride-to-be has been left devastated after her mother confessed to being ‘head over heels in love’ with her fiancé.
On an anonymous discussion board WeddingBee, she shared her frustrations. The woman stated that her world had been ‘turned upside-down’ after her mom – whom she loves dearly – revealed to her that she was having ‘romantic feelings for her future husband.
When her mother stated that she would fulfill her wish if it ever came up, her heart broke and she refused to go to her wedding.
These revelations have been widely shared online. Several people branded the mother inappropriate and needed professional assistance.

The bride stated, “I am engaged” to a great man whom I had met two years ago. The relationship has been wonderful, and it is hard to find a better partner.
Describing the close bond her fiancé shares with her family, she said they often go hiking and on group camping trips.
He would sometimes play tennis with his mother at weekends, something he said she encourages until now.
She wrote that she had been bitterly unhappy with her father’s marriage for many years, and that her partner made her feel the same way.
“She said that, if she had the opportunity to act, those were her feelings.”
The shock had subsided and the bride called her dad to inform him of the incident.
“He stated he was going to the hotel and leaving my house until my mother gets therapy,” she wrote.
‘My fiancé is now being very distant from me and it has just made things terrible.’
This outpouring of support for the bride prompted hundreds to rally behind her, and her mother was slammed.
A woman said, “Your mum’s feelings are completely inappropriate and she definitely should not have shared them with me,”
“She should not have kept her distance if she wanted to preserve the safety of those around her.
A second said that she believes her mother needs therapy because she is struggling with many things.
She said, “Your mother shouldn’t have told me that she had these feelings,” she added.
‘She’s clearly struggling very much right now and is going through some serious pain, but by acting the way she did, she damaged her relationship with you as well. I agree that you should focus on connecting with your fiancé right now.’
Other people suggested to the bride that she may need to admit that the relationship between her and her mother is not the same.
