One neo-Nazi, who claimed that Covid-19 was a hoax’ started by Jewish people and grew a Hitleresque moustache, has been convicted for hate crimes and terrorism.
Matthew Henegan, 36, of St Neots, Cambridgeshire, produced an hour-long film accusing the Jewish population of controlling the police, economy and media, and referred to them as ‘k**es’, calling them filthy and sadistic and branding them ‘creatures.’
Also, he accused Jews also of staging terrorist attacks by using ‘crisis agents’. This is a term used in conspiracy theories to describe people who pretend to be victims and witnesses to atrocities.
He posted the racist contents within videos and documents entitled Corona Virus Hoax Supplement, Corona Virus Hoax Full Edition’ and?Corona Virus Hoax Update – What You Are Being Controlled’.
The jury was informed that the shocking material had been shared by archive.org in America, which is a digital library that allows users to upload and down load content.
After just 11 hours of deliberation, Henegan was found guilty at the Old Bailey in London of publishing, distributing and possessing material designed to provoke racial hate.
After a search of the home of Mr. St Neots, a copy of “How to Make Armour Piercing Bullets” was found in his possession, the court heard.
Investigators also discovered a Nazi swastika robe and flyers referring to Hitler, “Your Saviour”.
The jury was also able to hear his conspiracy theories during the trial. He claimed that “if the Coronavirus existed”, then infected individuals would have been quarantined aboard an oil-rig.
The long-haired Nazi pointed at the jury and said that he thought he had the same mindset as the twelve disciples over there, or those in the gallery.
He claimed that his moustache on the toothbrush was not in tribute to Adolf Hitler who, during World War Two, killed at least 6 million Jews.
Matthew Henegan is being tried for inciting racism by publishing anti-Semitic articles that blamed Jews on the Covid pandemic. Pictured: The Old Bailey, where Henegan was expelled from his previous job for having a swastika.
He was expelled by the Old Bailey for his red swastika armband.
Henegan said to the jury, “You might see me with my moustache and consider it a Hitler moustache rather than Charlie Chaplin, or Oliver Hardy.”
“It is clear that your diseased mind influences your thoughts.”
If he was asked about his National Socialist beliefs, he answered, “Yes, but I don’t pretend otherwise.”
Henegan said that he would not take an oath about the Bible before giving evidence.
Judge Nigel Lickley stated to him today that he understood that a result of your convictions, you face a custodial sentence.
I’ll decide the length of your custodial sentence, and whether it’s immediate or suspended on the next occasion.
“I do not have any firm views at the moment, but all sentencing options and immediate custody are available,”
In her closing speech, prosecutor Julia Faure-Walker told the jury: ‘Mr Henegan chose to use the particularly derogatory term k**e.
‘There are no caveats that Mr Henegan meant in relation to his hatred directed at an ethnic group.
‘It is absolutely clear that the words k**e and Jew are used interchangeably.
‘During the video Mr Henegan complains no one listens to him, they’d much rather go on about f****g antisemitism.
“He will not have it that people try to raise this issue.
“He doesn’t have time to complain about racism against Jews.
‘There must have been a reason why he used the word k**e within the material.
Investigative team found Nazi-swastika arms and propaganda referring to Hitler in leaflets during raid at Henegan’s house (file image: Nazi swastika).
“It was meant to express his deep dislike of this particular group.
“The incessant use of highly offensive swear words is a sign that he was not just trying to relay facts.
“He wanted to create anger and extreme animosity.
“He could give evidence with out resorting to extreme profanities.
He said, “This kind of language is reserved to the groups that he views down upon, mostly Jews.”
“There will be people who read leaflets and then view or hear the audio, but they’ll immediately throw it out as trash.
“Unfortunately, others will feel racial hate when they are faced with emotive and charged words.”
Jurors were shown clips from Henegan’s film for an hour during trial. The footage contained many racist comments, including:
‘One (you) given a standing command upon my death to slaughter the k**e, for they will come to slaughter you as they already do and you will enter your children into the same slave stage that you live in today.
‘Colonisation is what the k**e is doing here with us, they merely turn film into their perverted dream and our reality.
‘The power of the Aryan far exceeds the k***s and I will lead you to victory over these vile sadistic creatures. Your Fuhrer.’
Henegan pleaded guilty to two counts publishing material intended to incite racial hostilities, three counts of distribution material that is likely to inspire racial hating, possession of material which could be used to create racial resentment, and one count of possessing material of terrorist use.
On January 14, next year, he will be sent to the Old Bailey.
