After trying to sell her couch, a new mom revealed that she had accidentally posted her baby on Facebook.
Lucy Battle, 20, from Burnley, was trying to give away her her old two seater couch when she accidentally included a picture of her seven-month-old son Oscar on a Facebook post with the caption ‘need gone today’.
While she believed she was posting pictures of the brown couch, she wasn’t aware that Oscar smiled in her post offering to give the sofa away for free.
One mom revealed that her newborn baby was accidentally sold on Facebook after she tried to sell it.
Lucy Battle (20 years old) from Burnley was trying to sell her two-seater sofa. She accidentally posted a photo of Oscar, her 7-month-old, on Facebook with the caption “need gone today”.
Instantly, she received a flood of comments about Oscar’s behaviour with children.
Lucy was able to see the humor in the situation and managed even shift the couch.
“I uploaded a photo of my old sofa to Facebook because I bought a new one, and I wanted the old one gone quickly, so I decided I would give it away for someone in need,” she said.
“I went through all my photos on my smartphone’s camera roll and found one that I thought was Oscar.
“At first, I was confused by what the commenters were saying. Then I looked at the posts and saw that the main image was of him.
She thought she had only posted pictures of the brown sofa but didn’t realise that she included little Oscar (pictured together) smiling in the post offering the couch for free.
“I felt so ashamed – I could not delete it.”
A local mom wrote, “Can you swap for a teenage?”
One other commentator said: “How does he do washing up?”
Another joked, “What does he like to do with other babies?”
One mother even suggested a swap deal. She posted: “How bout a 2 for 1 swap? One mother even offered a swap deal, posting: ‘How about a two for one swap? Teenager 13, brother 6, and I will give in the dad free of charge.
Lucy was able to see the humor in the situation and managed even shift the couch. She explained that she posted the picture of her old sofa to Facebook as she had a new sofa and needed it gone quickly so she decided to give it away.
After posting the photos in a Facebook group about items for sale, her post quickly went viral thanks to the funny comments.
Elle added, “I just thought, “oh no! That’s so embarrassing!”
“Thankfully everyone cracked a joke about the situation.
“I was stunned by how everyone wanted him.
“The sofa was not offered to the person who came to pick it up, but they simply wanted it.”
