Today, Downing Street refused to provide a timeframe for the change in what definitions of “fully-vaccinated” – amid concerns that millions of people recently infected could remain uninsured.

According to the spokesperson of PM, those who have been prevented from receiving their third dose by Covid infection – meaning you are not allowed to take it for more than 28 days – will be offered an ‘opportunity’ to go.

An estimated 3.7 million people in the UK had the virus in the week ending December 31, up from 2.3 million in the week to December 23 and the highest number since comparable figures began in autumn 2020, the Office for National Statistics said.

A spokesperson for the Prime Minister was asked if having the booster vaccine would affect whether he could be allowed to travel or if he wouldn’t have to quarantine after returning from overseas.

He added: “I believe the Prime Minister has talked about it on a few occasions. And we have always stated that, given all we know about declining immunity, it is right to consider what constitutes fully vaccinated.

‘As Prime Minister mentioned in the press confer, I think just this Week, we also want ensure that those who had Covid but have been unable to obtain their booster due to contracting Covid, are able to receive it.

“So, we are keeping it under review. However, we will confirm any changes.

He answered a question about when the definition for fully vaccinated would be changed.

The UK has received more than 34.8 millions booster doses, and 1.3 million third doses in just seven days.

More than 65 percent of adult patients in the UK now have received boosters or third doses. 

According to reports, Cabinet ministers discussed this week whether to deny entry to large venues or allow quarantine-free travel for those refusing to receive a booster shot. 

The Times reported that ministers from the Government’s Covid O committee had discussed making third jabs mandatory for Covid passes. This is to encourage eligible adults to accept the offer of another vaccine dose.

The newspaper stated that implementation of the plans will be delayed to at least next month in order to allow people who have had their boosters delayed by the virus to recover. However, this move may put Boris Johnson back on track with the rebel Tory backbenchers.
