Craig David was stalked by a woman for five years, believing she’s his girlfriend. A court heard.
Obsessive fan Tanya Jeal, 31, allegedly turned up outside the 40-year-old star’s home and repeatedly buzzed his intercom system while holding up a photo that she had taken with him five years ago.
Highbury Corner magistrates’ Court heard from her that she had booked in the same hotel as him, called his parents, and held up the exact photo while standing motionless at his front row gig.
Jeal, of Orpington, Kent, has now been banned from making any contact with the Southampton-born hitmaker under a stalking protection order, reported the Sun.
According to the singer, Jeal had posted this Snapchat message: “I know that you love me,” and she said that after climbing out of fire escapes, Jeal would knock at his hotel door repeatedly.
Craig received the interim order from the Met Police.

Tanya Jeal (pictured), 31 year old obsessive fan, was reportedly seen outside the star’s house and buzzed repeatedly his intercom while holding up an image she had taken five years earlier.
Michael Rhimes represented the force and said to the court, ‘It seems clear that she is infatuated by him.
“It’s clear that she believes he is her boyfriend.” But he isn’t.
He said, “She made comments that attempted to incriminate his management team.”
‘She seems to think this is a Britney Spears-type situation where she thinks his management is exploiting him.’
Jeal (author of Trophy Hunting: It’s a Killing Business) can challenge the order in a review next year.
Craig is a judge for the ITV talent program Walk The Line. He was unable to attend yesterday’s hearing.
He received the MBE in Music Services from Prince Charles at Windsor Castle on the day it happened.
As he was elected a Member of the Order of the British Empire, he displayed the highest standards of elegance and proudly stood before the heir apparent to the throne.
Rapper-cum-DJ had his finest attire for the occasion, sporting a tailored suit with a matching burgundy tie.
Charles was on a plush, royally-dressed rug and placed the MBE lapel into the jacket of the singer.
Craig couldn’t help but smile as he was presented with his well-deserved award.
